Ok Fanny you are my HERO.  I went to the first aid station and got a bunch of STUFF - gauze, tape, scissors, bandaids - my friend and coworker gave me a cigarette, we removed the tobacco and moistened it a little, then put it on the sting put a band aid over it and then wrapped it in gauze to keep it in place - AMAZING - the stinging is GONE.  I am soooooo happy right now I could dance - LOL the sting is on the top of my foot.  Thank you so much - I am a new person!!!

Great! It's something we have used for ions, but it is also and old Girl Scout trick. I don't know if they even teach it any more in First Aid for GS, but we did when my girls were scouts. I'm glad it worked for you.

I wonder what's up Mission. You know I have been having that problem too. Either they are dead or dying and they are only in my computer room or bathroom. Did you take a benadryl and put ice on the sting? Let me know what the exterminator says and take care of your bite.

MIssion, if you have any cigarettes, take the paper off, and dampen the tobacco, and use that as a poltice. It will draw the soreness out. Also be sure you've got all the stinger out. I know it hurts.
I was gonna tell her to do that too Fanny. It works like a charm.

Great minds think alike JSM......you should mention you think there is a bee hive when you call about your stove

When me and bf were buying our house, we watched the neighboors house also being built (we ended up not buying that house bc builder had $400,000 in leans and couldnt pay em off by closing, also he went bankrupt after we all backed out of those houses) any ways the house next door, bees built a hive in the wall of their garage and they had to tear down wall bug bomb then rebuild wall! it was nutz!! there was browm speckles everywhere, b4 we learned that there were bees in their, and it was their poop all over the wall! it was just crazy!

Now we know why........

A long time ago, the British and French were at war.
During one battle, the French captured an English major.
They took the major to their headquarters and a French general began to question him.
The French general asked: 'Why do you English officers all wear red coats?
Don't you know the red material makes you easy targets for us to shoot?'
In his debonair English way, the major informed the general that the reason English officers wear red coats is so that if they are shot, the blood won't show, and the men they are leading won't panic.
And that is why from that day to now, all French army officers wear brown pants.

No offense to the French.

that was a good one! good mornign JSM thanks for the early am
  Glad you liked it Scarey.

Thank you JSM  We have some friends who have had this too - it is so weird.  Yep I did take a Benadryl and the swelling is way down but I feel like a complete zombie today
I seriously think there is a huge beehive in the roof above my closet. Either that or it is a bird nest. Some kind of critter is moving around up there.

You may as well report that while you are reporting the oven. Either that, or you might have a whole hive/nest of critters come crashing through the ceiling of your closet and you and Josef would be out in the cold.
I will talk to the maintenance guy today.

No kidding?  I am off to the ladies room to try it right now!!!!  If anyone comes in they are going to wonder what the heck I am doing!  Thanks Fanny I hope it works cuz it does hurt and I have a very high pain tolerance.

It's really better if you could have done it when it first happened. Also if you can figure how to put a tape or bandaid over it to keep it that way. It is also very important to get every bit of the stinger out.

Thanks to Nurse Ratched

Yeah, cause dammed if I'm gonna be cooking and swatting bees, or worse, a nest full of mad racoons. JSM, Do you have a broom?? A spatula would be nice too!

Bumble Bee recipe1/3 oz Bailey's Irish cream
1/3 oz Kahlua coffee liqueur
1/3 oz sambuca

This is a layered shot. First pour the Bailey's into the shot glass. Then take an upside down spoon and touch it to the inside wall of the glass. Carefully add the Kahlua. Repeat this process for the Sambuca. If done properly, the alcohol will stay separated and resemble a bumble bee. Enjoy!

Dolly's Delicious 'Coon from Sylvia's Family Soul Food Cookbook

1 5-lb raccoon
3 large onions
1/4 lb fatback
2 tbs red pepper flakes
1 tsp seasoned salt
2 tsp salt
2 tsp pepper
2 tsp Accent (optional)
2 cups chopped onion

You simmer the raccoon for 6 HOURS! before baking it for another hour.

How to Make a Camp Oven

1 cardboard box,
tin foil
Olive Oil
trees to burn

Sit the box on its short end so that the length of the box is upright, perpendicular to the ground. Leave long flaps in place, as these will serve as your doors. Cut away flaps from short ends, if there are any.

Cover the entire box inside and out with heavy-duty aluminum foil. Use long pieces, wrapping around the inside and outside of box, pushing and shaping foil into place. Secure with staples where necessary. The box in this image was made with only one door. However, a two-door oven makes it easier to slide the aluminum pans in and out without getting burned. Be sure to turn the box back onto its short end again after you have finished covering it with foil. The box should stand at least 18 inches tall. Turning the box this way gives you more space between the coals and the bottom of your baking pan. This gives you more control over how much heat reaches your pan.

Make three holes each on the right and left sides of the box, making sure all the holes are level with each other. Make sure no cardboard is exposed. If necessary, take bits of foil and work them through the holes until the cardboard is covered. Carefully slide skewers through holes. These will be your oven rack. The rounded dots on the image are for skewer placement. The square dots are for air flow. Be sure to make air flow holes on at least three sides, omitting the doors

Wipe the entire surface of the oven--using a wad of paper towel dipped in extra virgin olive oil--inside and out with a light coating of oil. Place one of the two aluminum foil pans in the bottom of the oven, and fill it with apple wood chips or junk mail logs cut to fit the pan. Light your fuel and allow everything to burn for about 10 to 15 minutes while doors are nearly all the way closed. This is to season your oven and make it more flame resistant.

Good Morning Monkeys  We have had a strange appearance of Bees in our house over the past few weeks - it is driving us crazy we can't figure out where they are coming from - well last night one was in my slipper and stung me - I have to tell ya Monkeys it hurt like he!! and it is still stinging - I was miserable all night - little bastar*'s!! We are calling an exterminator today - it is the weirdest thing we have never had much in the way of bees around our house ever.

I hope everyone is off to a good start today  an angelic monkey

I probably will tell the maintenance guy. Hopefully they won't go in my closet, it is filled with boxes and boxes of books.
