Hi Sassy - By the way how is your brother coming along?

He's doing much better.   He has the physical therapists going to his house.   He was told to wait about 5-6 months to have the carotid artery cleaned because he had so many problems with his kidneys due to complications from type II diabetes.
The reason I haven't been on much lately is because I decided to focus on my own health and try to get in shape.   I had picked up a few pounds after I quit smoking and now I'm working to get it off.    My brother is only 8 years older than me, and I don't want to end up with the same health problems that he has had.   

I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the threads now - but my butt was getting so wide, I had to do something!   

I hope with time his health improves rather than the opposite - I will continue to keep him and your family in my prayers and thoughts.  I am proud of you Sassy for wanting to improve your health also that is wonderful - I need to take a few lessons from you - I could stand to lose a few pounds - I broke my leg in 07 and was non weight bearing for 3 mos and by the time all was said and done it was almost 2 yrs before I was active like I was used to and the LB's piled on a bit - this summer I forced myself to be more active but I need to keep it up thru the winter.

I know what you mean.   I broken my wrist severely back in 2004.  I couldn't work for three months and so when I finally got back to work - I was laid off due to budget cutbacks in the military.   It was know as the COW - Cost of War cutbacks.   They learned to do my job while I was gone - so they got rid of me!        Anyway, I didn't go back to work and so I have been slowly picking up a fews lbs each year.   Well, its time to get rid of it before I turn 50!    I finally got rid of the cigs - now I just have to get rid of the weight.    Maybe then I'll be a cougar.     

That is to ironic I worked in Title and the market was starting to die - it was a small company and the owner is a jerk - he sent me a letter day after Christmas informing me that he did not have to give me medical leave because he didnt fall under the FMLA because he had less than 50 employees - he had 47 - so therefore he could not guarantee my position - rate of pay etc.....that was comforting geeesh I had a rod in my femur and nine screws - not like I had a sprained ankle for goodness sake - well it was meant to be because I got a new job while I was laid up and they waited for me until I was able to get on my feet and come aboard but I was hurt - I can imagine how you felt.  Purrrr you are a cougar Sassy.

Yay Mission. I don't know what our weather is going to be here, but I will be here for the Monkey Reunion on Saturday.

  I would much rather be here with my monkey friends than people that can see me and talk behind my back. More important I don't want to see the Ex husband. I think I will stay here. My mom said to see if my brother would be my date.  I don't think the ex would run his mouth about me at this class reunion.  6'7" 280 lb brother against a 6' 1" 150 lb ex.  My brother isn't a fighter. I should ask the other one to go with me and then all bets are off. That brother would love to go and have a bit of fun. 

Seriously, I am not going. I am not going to see all these people that have "happy families, make gazillions of dollars, live in fine houses" and they are full of sh*t.

Oh, JSM.  Nobody will have happy families, gazillions of dollars, live in fine houses but they will be full of it.  We don't live in OZ.  Most of them will have gained weight, have several exes and kids in rehab but they won't tell you. Many of them will envy your life, your freedom to do what you want, such as becoming a champion figure skater (Well, you did win best in your age group) I don't think you realize it, but you have a great life.  You have your own little nest with Joe (and it's true the more I know of men the more I love my dog.) And they will envy your job and the fact that you can have pizza or whatever the he77 you want whenever you want it and you don't have to answer to anyone but yourself. The best part is you don't have to do anyone's laundry but your own.  Since I've written this all down, I think I envy you myself.
