Bud's Girl - I left the recipe for you that you had asked about in Musings quite a while ago.  Did you get it?

Northern -  I wanted to tell you that I got your pumpkin roll and pumpkin cake recipes!    My daughter loves pumpkin rolls, but I've never made it before.  We usually go to the bakery and buy it.   Thanks for sharing.
If you have any other pumpkin recipes you want to share, that would be sweet!   

I have used that recipe for years.  Just do not cheat on greasing and flouring the paper or it will not come off without breaking when you roll it in yoru cloth.

Here is another recipe that my family really likes

Pumpkin Gingerbread

3 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
2/3 cup water
1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder

Lightly grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans. 
In a large bowl mix sugar, oil and eggs and beat until smooth. Add water and beat until well blended. Stir in pumpkin, ginger, allspice and cinnamon.
In medium bowl, mix flour, soda, salt, and baking powder. Add dry ingredients to pumpkin mixture and blend just until all ingredients are mixed (do not over beat) Divide batter between prepared pans.

Bake in preheated 350 degree oven until toothpick comes out clean, about 1 hour

JSM & everyone struggling with life's bumps in the road, your friends help you lift your wings so you can still fly...when life gets difficult I hope that is comforting to everyone as I have felt your kindness when I needed it and feel a sense of gratitude that words just are not adequate enough.


On a lighter note, just got done watching Hell's Kitchen  woot woot  Im happy with the result, now let' see how the chef does during the Olympics in Feburary, its around the corner pretty much    No stupid cows allowed!

I made a kind of Turkey shepherds pie.  Finely chopped leftover turkey and veggies, warmed with some sauteed onions, garlic and turkey stock I made yesterday and thyme and parsley.  Put that in casserole dish, next layer leftover stuffing, then left over mashed potatoes, then some white and yellow cheddar and in the oven.  It was  Nummy!

Hubby had surgery today so I wanted something that would be soft on his throat and stomach as he has not eaten since Sunday prepping for surgery.  His Biopsy came out BENIGN!!!!!!  Just waiting on results of the second biopsy they took today.

Dinner sounds wonderful!
