I received these in an email titled "When Insults had Class..."  I thought all of you might enjoy these.  Some of them might be very appropriate when applied to some people from Aruba.  My modest attempt to inject some class into our insults.

-- Winston   Churchill

"I have never killed a   man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure."
--Clarence Darrow

"He has never been known to use a word that might send a reader to the dictionary."
--   William Faulkner (about Ernest Hemingway)

"Poor Faulkner. Does he really think big emotions come from big words?"
-- Ernest   Hemingway (about William Faulkner)

"Thank you for sending me a copy of your book; I'll waste no time reading it."
 --   Moses Hadas

"He can compress the most words into the smallest idea of any man I know."
 -- Abraham Lincoln

"I've had a perfectly wonderful evening. But this wasn't it."
 -- Groucho Marx

"I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it."
-- Mark Twain

"He has no enemies, but is intensely disliked by his friends."
 -- Oscar   Wilde

"I am enclosing two tickets to the first night of my new play; bring a friend....
 if you have one."
--   George Bernard Shaw to Winston Churchill

"Cannot possibly attend first night, will attend second... if there is one."
--   Winston Churchill, in response

"I feel so miserable without you; it's almost like having you here."
 -- Stephen   Bishop

"He is a self-made man and worships his creator."
 -- John   Bright

"I've just learned about his illness. Let's hope it's nothing trivial."
 -- Irvin S. Cobb

"He is not only dull himself, he is the cause of dullness in others."
 -- Samuel   Johnson

"He had delusions of adequacy."
 -- Walter Kerr

"There's nothing wrong with you that reincarnation won't cure."
 -- Jack E. Leonard

"He has the attention span of a lightning bolt."
 -- Robert   Redford

"They never open their mouths without subtracting from the sum of human knowledge."
 --   Thomas Brackett Reed

"He inherited some good instincts from his Quaker forebears, but by diligent hard work, he overcame them."
-- James Reston (about Richard Nixon)

"In order to avoid being called a flirt, she always yielded easily."
 -- Charles, Count Talleyrand

"He loves nature in spite of what it did to him."
 -- Forrest Tucker

"Why do you sit there looking like an envelope without any address on it?"
-- Mark Twain

"His mother should have thrown him away and kept the stork."
 -- Mae   West

"Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go."
-- Oscar Wilde

"He uses statistics as a drunken man uses lamp-posts... for support rather than illumination."

"He has Van Gogh's ear for music."

Sadly I heard from a reliable source that this is true. It was not the van der Sloots, but reliable. Normally I would not like to believe Monkey Poop and was hoping that MF or someone would come on here and speak up.

I live in Michigan and it gets and stays friggen cold and I never do the things you are talking about, never had a problem.  The only thing I do is unhook the hoses and store them for the winter.  If you have a water pipe that is exposed to the air (as in not buried or anything) for several feet you might want to insulate it but other than that, the odds of your pipes freezing ae pretty darn close to zero.

It depends on whether or not your home is up on pier and beam....if so, then hence the need to wrap the pipes and do the drip. If your home is on a slab, it isn't necessary. The location is moot.

What about us folks with dirt floors?

Cannot help you there.  Laughing Put on extra leggins for the run to the out buildings! Laughing

It's getting thru the snowdrift to the firewood that's a hassle.

Laughing Don't keep the firewood in the outbuildings. Laughing

You should both be very proud!!

Thank you buckeye, despite the trials of this year she's still done so well, I even found a butterfly charm for her bracelet but shhhh, no one tell that's a secret. I plan to give it to her to wear at graduation.

I know you are proud of her as you should be, for more reasons than one, but that cum laude thingie is really fantastic.  I know she has worked hard and has been through a lot and it is pretty amazing that she graduates, muchless that she is graduating cum laude.  I hope she will take a break and do something fun for a while.  She is going to love the butterfly, what a neat gift!

Anna, I thought you were ins Alabama, why are you worried about your pipes freezing?

For the same reason I'm worried about my pipes freezing in Tennessee. It's going to be 18 degrees here the next two nights.  Sad

LMAO.. That was the HIGH here today!  Unless your pipes are different - you should be OK.  Better get out the toddy!

And hello monks!  Catching up on the latest news... at least there appears to be some progress.  Will say a prayer.

honestly she's helping with cookies through the holiday, the job market is very very slow.......that being said I'm scheduled to have my fourth interview with a global company tomorrow and it's been two months of interview process! I'll be thankful to have her helping me and she thinks it's fun and not work, so no one tell her cookies are work too  Laughing
