SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio police arrested the 18-year-old father of an infant girl hours after the bruised baby was found dead outside a fire station.

Fire Chief Charles Hood said the body was discovered during a shift change.

Ramiro De La Rosa was jailed Thursday on a charge of injury to a child/serious bodily injury.

A jailer at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center, who declined to give her name, said bail was $100,000. There was no record of an attorney for De La Rosa, who was arrested Wednesday night at his home.

The body of the 2-month-old girl was discovered around 4 a.m. Wednesday wrapped in a pink blanket in a car seat. Hood says it was not immediately clear if she was alive when she was left.

Autopsy results are pending.
