ORLANDO -- Wednesday marks one year since a grand jury indicted Casey Anthony on a first degree-murder charge in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

On the anniversary of her indictment, the judge in the case has another slew of motions to consider Friday regarding both the murder case and unrelated check fraud charges.

Not only does attorney Jose Baez want his client’s murder trial moved out of Orange County, but he also wants Casey’s check fraud case moved to either Miami-Dade County, Palm Beach County or Broward County.
“Miss Anthony cannot get a fair trial by an impartial jury in Orlando because of extensive, inflammatory and prejudicial pretrial publicity in this case,” Baez said in his motion.

The defense also replied to the state’s response for a motion to dismiss Casey’s murder case.

The defense argued the case should be dismissed, because the state ruined important evidence in the case, namely excavating the crime scene where Caylee Anthony’s remains were found in December.

The defense also filed a separate motion to reproduce hard or digital copies of crime scene photographs, and a motion to require potential jurors in Casey’s check fraud case to fill out a questionare.

All of the motions should be hammered out in court Friday.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Wednesday marks the one-year anniversary of the day that Casey Anthony was first formally charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse in the death of her daughter.

On Oct. 14, 2008, after she was arrested for the fourth time, investigators described Casey Anthony as "cool as a cucumber" and said their hopes that a murder charge might get the young mother to crack had been dashed.
When she was brought in to sheriff's headquarters one year ago Wednesday, Anthony did not utter a word about her daughter Caylee's whereabouts, but only requested that her attorney be present.

After the grand jury's indictment was handed up, the judge issued an arrest order and Anthony was intercepted as she got out of her mother's car and into the car of her bail bondsmen.

Prior to this time in the case, when she was not in jail, Anthony could often be found visiting her lawyer's office in Kissimmee, usually in a Caylee T-shirt and white sunglasses. At one point, she high-fived her brother, Lee Anthony, and was typically smiling.

Currently, Anthony is being held at the Orange County Jail. Her trial is expected to begin sometime this summer. The state is seeking the death penalty.

Anthony has pleaded not guilty and maintains a babysitter kidnapped Caylee.

I wonder if the jail personnel are going to give KC a cup cake with one candle on it to celebrate the the one year Anniversary?

Casey Anthony's Jail Account Runs Dry

ORLANDO, Fla. -- It's been one year since the case against Casey became official and the accused child killer is expected to be in court Friday of this week.

Casey Anthony's defense team is expected to ask for a change of venue for her check fraud trial during the hearing scheduled for Friday (read the motion). Her attorneys say they want to be sure jurors for that trial don't hear any evidence that comes out involving her murder case.

Casey was indicted for her 2-year-old daughter Caylee's murder one year ago, October 14, 2008.


CASEY’S JAIL ACCOUNT IN THE NEGATIVE

Casey's jail account is in the red by $8.95.

Since Casey has been behind bars, she has spent over $2,000 on a variety of items, including more than 30 beef sticks, 58 cans of jalapeno dip and 41 bags of chips.

Earlier this year, Eyewitness News reported that strangers from California, Georgia and South Carolina sent Casey money to her jail account.

I think it's just down. I posted quite a lengthy post over their this afternoon, the video was working before I posted, it was not after I posted and my comment still doesn't show. I wonder if they were inundated with negative posts and just shut it down. Of course I would think they would remove the entire thing if that was the case, but who knows?!
