Am telling ya, I was stunned to read that any non-custody parent can take one or more children on vacation, keep the child/ren, hide them from the custodial parent, (isn't that ermmm illegal in and of itself?) then while gone, apply for custody... and GET IT!!  That, IMO, speaks to how broken our system is.

My thoughts and prayers for all our posters, and all the families across the country that have had to deal with such unfairness with DCF. So very upsetting.

your right!I'm so grateful my daughter is grown and the judge terminated my son's fathers rights.......that being said I already posted what I had planned to do with Eli if he had lived........sad when you have to think that far ahead of the curve, but that's just me.

It is sad to need to look so far ahead, IM.  Am glad tho that some folks do, 'just in case', no matter how hard it is at the time.  Show's that they, and you, have a very caring heart.    

I also am in a quandry as to what to do for the future.  Oldest is no longer living with his baby mama and my grandson, who will be 3 next month.  With every beat of my heart, I do know that grandson is better off away from son, and with his baby mama.  My heart tells me no no no, I want to see him grow up, be involved in his life, etc.  My mind tells me the best thing is to advise her to go after sole and legal custody, and ask the judge to never let my son darken their door again.  It's real hard when it's your own that the child needs to be protected from.  Sigh.

And umm.. probably not.  It's kind of an all-out war against our family from hers, right now.  Probably best for grandson not to even try.

I watch these cases, and am amazed at how often some do parallel the lives of readers, to some extent.  And in some cases, I'm left thinking, ..... there but for the grace of God, goes my family..  Am quite sure there are others thinking the same thing.  The fear of what 'could happen'..   My heart goes out to all of you too.

That's what I thought too, Brandi.  Was thinking her next court appearance would be in Putnam County.  That they had so many days to trade custody of her or whatever it's called, with tomorrow her atty in TN wrapping things up on her behalf?  Or maybe it's tomorrow in court that TN actually hands her over to FL?  Heck, I dunno.  Guess we'll see.

Sure, I 'll meet you in 'Musings'.  I don't think I have ever been there but I'll find it, lol.

Just be honest so you can live with yourself.  You have to face yourself in the mirror, not any of them.  This will also allow you to keep your credibility.  Should the tide ever turn years from now and it is your son who becomes the better parent you will still have your credibility and the Court will hopefully hear you then as well.

Hiya, wyks and all monkeys, just got caught up reading and I wish we could find out just on real clue to find HaLeigh.....it bothers me everyday and night as to just where is she and if she is gone, where is her little body, Gosh there has to be someway to find her.....
    I really wish that this Donna girl had been able to get the truth out of Misty, I dont care how its done, it needs to be done, HaLeigh deserves to be found and this sure doent need to be a cold case with no resolve.....

   Do we know if NG is gonna talk about Haleigh case tonight.?
