Petey progress:

1.  He can now go in and out of the doggie door although it's rather comical to watch
2.  He figured if he tried hard enough he could get up on the chair all by himself

ARUBA: It's all about Natalee...we won't give up!

« Reply #1349 on: January 03, 2010, 10:55:44 PM »

TM, there's something about bathroom items. My Shar Pei is less of a "chewer" than any dog I've ever had. HOWEVER....... if she gets near a roll of toilet paper, it's going to look like a snow storm has hit the house interior, in no time flat! My son's dog was the WORST, most destructive one animal I have ever encountered as a puppy.

He chewed up 7 pairs of my shoes, obliterated the door casing around my son's bedroom door, came THROUGH the den closed window, shattered the glass storm door that was guaranteed shatter proof, ruined the family room sofa by "marking" it, scratched up both the leather sofas in the den, and taught my Shar Pei that the one room in the house that had carpet was really an indoor bathroom.

My son moved out of my house shortly AFTER his dog was through with the puppy phase! It's a good thing that his dog is really a sweetie, because that's the only thing that kept me from killing him.

Here's the big lug taken this summer while I was "babysitting" for a few days when my son was out of town. He's a Bull Mastiff named Bubba and weighs 170 lbs.  The last one is of my Sharp Pei taken while she "sang" her excitement at her big brother being home again to stay for a few days.    He really is a sweet dog and is a big baby!

Bubba and Kubear are gorgeous CBB!

Our JR's like shredding toilet paper and any other paper too!  I've been scolding them about it severely (while I'm picking it up) but they do it so fast I can never catch them while they're doing it!  I dread seeing what all they'll get into when I go back to work tomorrow and my boys are still off.  I've basically been the one keeping an eye on them for the last two weeks and they've had a lot of time out and about so I know they're not going to be happy in their pet taxi's for long.  The boys let them out and then start playing video games and forget all about keeping an eye on them!

Bubba (when he was young) reminds me a lot of our first "child"...a red male doberman named Samson.  He would destroy one shoe from each pair of my favorite dress shoes for work at a time.  I can still remember wearing a pair of black leather pumps that had teeth impressions on one of the heels from him.  I really loved them and since I'd rescued it before he totally destroyed it...I just kept on wearing them!    By the time he was a year old people were afraid of him because he was so big (and a doberman...lol), but he was the biggest baby you've ever seen in your life.  I'll have to find a pic to post of him some time.  When he got out of the puppy stage he was really a good dog...I miss him.

Napping on the couch  an angelic monkey .  This is how we like him the best  .  The rest of the time he is a razor sharp teeth buzz saw just waiting to make contact with your skin

He's too cute, I just want to give him a hug sooooo bad!

It's the same as they get older, they're constantly chewing on something unless they're asleep!

Yesterday I heard a tearing sound and caught Deeder shredding the corner of a towel he'd brought from the bathroom!

There were only about 6 different chew toys laying all around him, but he went and got the towel!

This is so funny.  My dogs did the same thing.  Toys all over the place and what do I hear?  Rip rip rip they are playing tug of war and ripping the towel in shreds.

Tug of war between the JR's is constant around here, with anything and everything!

Klaas,
I just had to log in and tell you "I LOVE THAT DOGGIE".  It is precious.  Thanks for posting all the cute pictures of him.  Petey is a "beaut".

Hope all had a Happy New Year.  I didn't get to see the Blue Moon cause it was COLD and snowy in Gatlinburg.  Cold as in 13 degrees and we were staying in a condo that did not allow smoking (except on the balcony).  Burrrrrrrr...

You could go to TM's son's girlfriend's house and Snowball can pee on your leg, that will make you warm.

Snowball would never do something like that

But she does like to cuddle!

Oh no, I heard about those teeth, they are not cuddly choppers, you can't fool me.

Awww that's too cute!  Just wait until he decides nothing can remain stuffed anymore!    Monkey Devil!

A Christmas toy (furry yellow with red antlers) that Scout had for years is now just any empty shell thanks to Deeder.  We would throw it and Scout would fetch it...we called it her "baby" and if we told her to go get it she'd go to the basket and rummage through all the toys until she found it.  I picked it up the other day after Deeder had destuffed it and asked Scout if Deeder got her baby, and she just gave me the saddest look.  Poor thing, I'm going to have to find another one like it for her and keep it away from DeederTheDestroyer!

Petey appears to enjoy playing with the stuffed toys more than destroying them.  With our other JR's I'd time them.  They could take apart any stuffed animal in about 60 seconds, LOL
