Happy New Year to all Monkeys!

I haven't been posting much lately.  It's been rather hectic over the holidays combined with an accident, no injuries (car in body shop over Christmas and New Years,  my dear brothers fall on black ice where he fractured his pelvis, our sons visit home, etc. etc. etc.

Thank you GE!    I'm quirky about things I dread but are inevitable. I just ignore them until I HAVE to face it, and then get through it one step at a time. His ACL is completely torn in two in both legs and his knee caps need cleaning up from prior surgeries. They can only do one at a time and the recovery is a year long ordeal for each. He had a choice to use a cadaver tendon for the repair, or his own. He chose his own even though the level of pain is higher. The ultimate outcome is somewhat better with that choice.

He's having the surgery in Oak Ridge (about 100 miles Soutwest of me) next week. Right now I couldn't even tell you what day (Tuesday, I think, but when I say I ignore stuff like this, I mean I IGNORE it!) He'll remind me the day before, and we'll head out early the next morning. I started reading an article about the procedure, and got so far as to read about the groove in the bone they'd drill to lay the tendon in and stopped. I know everything I need to know. I know he's in constant pain now and really limited in what he can do daily. He needs to have it done. I know that there isn't anything possible that can help him get through it, that I won't get for him or do. I know that beyond that, it's out of my hands, and I've put it in God's.

I hope he and his Father relish those football memories the rest of their lives, because he's sure paying a price for it now.

CBB   there will be lots of Monkey prayers for your son. I hope the Docs can at least keep the pain under control. I know how it hurts when our kids are in pain and we are helpless...hang in Mom

CBB  Prayers for your son and you. I know we as mothers have a hard time when our children are in pain or sick. We would change places with them if we could.  an angelic monkey

Wish I could help in some way. Prayers for him and that the Lord guides the surgeons hands and for a fast recovery. I am sending a long distance hug for you both

Johnson & Johnson expands Tylenol recall

By MARLEY SEAMAN, AP Health Writer

Friday, January 15, 2010
Johnson & Johnson expanded a recall of over-the-counter medications Friday, the second time it has done so in less than a month because of a moldy smell that has made users sick.

The broadening recall now includes some batches of regular and extra-strength Tylenol children's Tylenol, eight-hour Tylenol, Tylenol arthritis, Tylenol PM, children's Motrin, Motrin IB, Benadryl Rolaids, Simply Sleep, and St. Joseph's aspirin. Caplet and geltab products sold in the Americas, the United Arab Emirates, and Fiji were recalled.

I've started a thread in SM Food and Products recall forum for comment or additional information/contribution of articles.  MB

Thank you Sunny!
Things have quieted down and I'm catching my breath.  Our son left yesterday and we miss him already but are thankful he does make the trip home from time to time.
Not sure of my brothers prognosis yet or if he will have the use of one of his legs, and he doesn't seem to know either.

Hope 2010 is great for you also!

Since its slow I just thought I would post a few pics that my son took during their trip to get Jake. My son is a professional photographer and he picked out a few pics to use in his line of work, I thought they were beautiful....
