Man investigated in Lindsey Baum disappearance

MCCLEARY, Wash. – A home and storage facility were searched Tuesday in the case of missing 12-year-old Lindsey Baum and detectives are looking at a person of interest.

Baum was last seen the night of June 26, 2009 after leaving a friend's house. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been named.

Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott says search warrants were served at Easy Storage at 967 West Simpson Avenue and a home at 114 Fir Street. The FBI and Grays Harbor County detectives both conducted the search for several hours.

Investigators did not find any clues in Baum's disappearance, but they did take some items to see if they contain forensic evidence.

Detectives are focusing on a person of interest who is connected to both locations. The man, who is not being identified by police, is someone investigators spoke to in the days following Baum's disappearance. He was interviewed because he lives one block off the route Baum would have taken. Scott says detectives have found "inconsistencies" in what the man originally told police.

Scott says the man is one of about 30 persons of interest since Baum disappeared.

Police say the two search warrants are the fourth and fifth served in the Baum investigation, although there have been dozens of searches in the case.

Baum turned 12-years-old last Wednesday. There is a $25,000 reward for information leading toward finding her. For more information, visit the Lindsey

Seeking Justice for Caylee

DD - would it be that they are searching the "House Guests" (POI's) home, and the residence where this "House Guest" is staying? Therefore the different house numbers?

It is a large sort of rambling house with deck, garden space, and what looks like a collection of campers. Very near the public library. Yellow police tape around the entire area.

Direct eye-shot view from the Fir St. house to the Pool house.
