Wow, I never gave that a thought that one of the reasons my dad didn't want Life Alert is because the ambulance comes to the house. And knowing my dad he wouldn't want the neighbors seeing the ambulance at the house  I guess that makes sense, it doesn't to me, because you would think that you would see this as a good thing, but I guess I understand.

I think that is one reason the older people wouldn't want to call, just thinking about why he wouldn't want a life alert.

Good Morning Monkeys - whoa I am way behind.  Didn't have much time this weekend - I will try to catch up but in the meantime I hope everyone is well.
Hope you enjoyed your cooking class

Thank you NoRose - the class was really fun - we got to be in the kitchen with the chef's and watch them make each recipe - they made an appetizer, salad and 2 entrees and dessert - it was so interesting to see the techniques - I learned alot - the food was awesome - I made one of the recipes yesterday and it turned out so good.  I am going to another one on the 7th of November - it will be all appetizers for the Holidays and wines.  I can't wait for that one.

I see you are considering a move to your Dad's for awhile?  I know how much you miss Wisconsin and it is so hard to have your parent so far away from you.  My dad lived in Alaska for a few years (he worked on the pipeline up there) he is a young man, all of 67, very healthy, very active, however a big shock when I got a call at 2 am 6 years ago that he had gotten sick and needed bypass surgery.  That was so hard because he was so far away and I was panicked - I got on a plane for an 8 hour trip (scared to death the whole way).  I stayed with him for a month and then insisted he come home, this was in November and in February he did move back even though we are in MN some 125 miles away from him he is a little over an hour away for camping in the summer on the farm and if something ever happens I am close.  Maybe you should go up this summer and spend a month and see how you feel about it and if it feels good then stay. Curious....what does your husband think?

I stayed for months after my mother died, not only of course to help, but the day of the funeral my dad fell in the basement, and hurt his knee very bad, an infection got in it, and there were many trips to the doctor. He has come out three times since my mom died, and I've been back there for six weeks about a year and a half ago. I have to do what I feel is right, my husband and girls can do fine without me. I am just seeing how everything goes, and then probably Spring I will move, it just all depends on certain factors.
