(CNN) -- A Florida court has approved the divorce of the father of Haleigh Cummings, a Florida girl who disappeared in February, and the girl's stepmother, a key witness in the case.
 Ronald Cummings, 25, cites irreconcilable differences in ending his short marriage to his 17-year-old wife, whom he married more than a month after Haleigh went missing from her father's home in Satsuma, Florida, on February 9. Cummings has made several public pleas for information in her disappearance.

Misty Cummings, then known as Misty Croslin, was the last person known to have seen Haleigh the night she disappeared from the family's rented mobile home. The teenager said she tucked Haleigh and her 4-year-old brother into bed about 8 p.m. and went to sleep herself two hours later, but awoke at 3 a.m. to find the girl missing and a cinder block propping open a back door.

Ronald Cummings called police and reported his daughter missing when he returned from work at dawn.

Investigators have said they do not feel Misty Cummings has told them everything she knows.

"The police have been telling me that I've been keeping Misty under my wing and that's why she hasn't talked to the cops," Ronald Cummings told a HLN's "Nancy Grace" producer earlier in October. "So now, here you go, I divorced her. So now go find my baby."

The Putnam County Sheriff's office said in August that "the evidence and investigatory effort has minimized the likelihood that Haleigh's disappearance is the work of a stranger." Ronald Cummings and Crystal Sheffield, Haleigh's mother, are not considered suspects, police said.

"Investigators believe that Misty Croslin-Cummings continues to hold important answers in the case," the sheriff's office said in a written statement. "She has failed to provide any sort of detailed accounting of the hours during the late evening and early morning of Haleigh's disappearance. Furthermore, physical evidence at the scene contradicts Misty's sketchy account of her evening activities."
 Croslin has not been named a person of interest or suspect in the case. In televised interviews, Croslin has said she does not know what happened to the little girl, while also saying she believed "the other side of the family" knows where she is.

The couple lived together for about six months before marrying in March.

Under the divorce settlement approved Thursday by a St. John's County court, both sides permanently and irrevocably waive any rights to alimony and other types of financial payments.

 I predict that misty will find her old party crew or a new one and try to get ron's attention by getting all up snuggly and close in some other dudes grill. The usual response by the neandertol type is even tho I don't want her I don't want you to have her.  I don't think any amount of lawyer advice will be able to stop the tire squealing and burn outs that Ron
will have to do to show his manliness. Now without her husband to stay loyal to, i think Misty will start getting high and spilling some stories, maybe about him or hopefully about that night. Time will tell.
                                   

you could be right - sounds like what young stupid girls do. The fear I have with that is Ron. I can so see him taking the gun out of his closet and getting rid of the guy and Misty and whoever happens to be near.

Ok guys - having drafted a few divorce papers in my time (NOT mine - well one was mine but I digress!  )  the reconciliation clause does look pretty standard. It is not uncommon for people to get divorced and live together - why I have no clue except as a single person it is easier to get money from the State. Then suddenly one wants out and wants to take stuff with them. All the clause says is that IF they get back together, the requirements like giving the cars back to Ron, stands. I just can not imagine going back to my ex - unless it was to infect him with some terrible disease or some other evil thing!

Notice in the divorce papers it says they could possibly get back together later, and Misty didnt ask for her maiden name back....

I don't know if that is a standard clause about getting back together.
Up here, there is a waiting period between filing and the absolute divorce. If you do a booty call ( resume marital relations ) it's off and it isn't final.
So, if they do get back together for a one nooner / nighter or two or a week, they are still divorced.
I guess Ron has been taking some heat for texting Misty about the plant, so his lawyer told him to not speak to her without a lawyer present. Or get some throw away phones or never get caught with her.

I have never seen that language either, maybe we could pull another divorce record in Putnam Cnty and see if iit's standard language

It is a shame that Tim has to take time to tell the public a darn thing about what and why what he did....just reading his site Tim has more to do than answer for himself..like he said put on a pair boots and get your azz out there and help find the missing.GOD BLESS YOU TIM AND YOUR MEMBERS.

AMEN.  Bad things happen to good people and Tim is one of those people.  And he did something about it.  True measure of character, imo.  The suits on a panel who do not get in the trenches to help look for these missing children......... well, until they get their boots muddy looking for the missing, I have no use for them.  Can you say "Ratings".

Court records from St. Johns County indicate that the father and stepmother of missing Putnam County girl Haleigh Cummings have been granted a divorce.

Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin were married about seven months ago, shortly after Haleigh was reported missing by Croslin from their Satsuma home.

A judge finalized the divorce on Thursday, according to court records. Ronald Cummings was at work when his then-5-year-old daughter vanished. Misty Croslin, who was then Ronald's girlfriend and later married him, has said she woke in the early morning and noticed the girl was missing.

SATSUMA -- Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin are now divorced.

Court records from St. Johns County show the father and stepmother of Haleigh Cummings were officially granted the divorce Thursday.

The couple married in March, shortly after Croslin reported Haleigh missing from their Putnam County home.

Ronald Cummings cited irreconcilable differences in ending his short marriage to his 17-year-old wife.

The move followed weeks of reported tension between the couple during the search for the missing 6-year-old.

   I hope once Cummings, Neves, Sykes eyes were opened that this was all a ploy on their part to get Misty to open up.
