FBI lab technicians detected traces of chloroform inside a sports drink and plastic syringe recovered near the scene where the remains of Caylee Marie were found in 2008.
Those details and others are included in the more than 2,100 pages of documents released today by the State Attorney's Office in the criminal case against Casey Anthony -- the 23-year-old accused of killing her daughter last year.

The report from the FBI's lab shows the Cool Blue-flavored Gatorade drink contained an "unknown liquid." The bottle also contained a plastic bag labeled "Disposable Syringe Kit" with a plastic syringe inside of the bag.

A report labeled "Summary of results" by Dr. Michael Rickenbach of the FBI indicates chemical tests show the syringe contained chloroform, ethanol and water.

I am sure this has been answered some where over the last several months, but I was wondering why a syringe would be needed.  Why wouldn't she just pour the chyloroform in the drink bottle?

What is clear to me and probably to everyone else is, that mommy dearest did a bang up job of cleaning up every piece of evidence from all the personal items in the car. KC's clothes, knife, doll, shoes, clothing and generally detailing the whole car. Both parents did this in the full knowledge that they were destroying evidence, luckily they didn't have enough time to finish the job or find a way to get their hands on garbage bag, otherwise there would be nothing left. We all know Georgie knows how to clean a crime scene...
I don't see how charges aren't pending against these people, I'm so angry right now, how do they look at themselves in a mirror and not feel disgust.

What a diabolical piece of chit KC is. I know chloroform is usually breathed into the body, but what effect would it have if it was injected? Wouldn't it be very painful? What would be the effects on the body?

It's a good thing they didn't find Caylee or they would have been down there cleaning up that scene too.

Fanny, that is what I was wondering, but since it was also in the sports drink bottle then maybe she injected it into there and (hopefully) not Caylee.  The only reason I can figure using a syringe would be if the chloroform was in one of those bottles that you have to extract with a needle.  Like you see at the dr.'s office. If not, then why put it in the sports drink?
