Thank-you so much for all the updates  an angelic monkey   I have a question about Somer's older brother, he is 13?  I'm asking these questions, does he not live with his mom and siblings? Is it true he was picked up at the park across from the abandoned house? I have to say yesterday while cruising WS and the thread over there on Somer there are people that think this kid could have been the one to have done something to Somer. I never gave it any thought at all, but then wondered about these questions? Could this Sean guy and his techniques maybe being used on the older child? I have to say I'm really confused with this

I think the brother is a twin and it's the sister that is 13?

"Sam Thompson also has a benefit fund. He says the fund will help pay for visits to Jacksonville from his home in North Carolina."

Are we just seeing a still picture with Microphones, or do I need to reboot?

It's already over. And really no information was forthcoming. Just a general profile of what to look for:
Others might know something and not be aware of it
Look for changes in behavior
Leaving the area
Missing work on 10/19
Cuts or bruises
Interest in this case
Nervous or irritable
Shave beard

Just general stuff......very disappointing

Sheriff: Somer's Killer Watching Us
7-Year-Old Girl's Body Found In Georgia Landfill

POSTED: Wednesday, October 28, 2009
UPDATED: 11:15 am EDT October 28, 2009
[Somer Renee Thompson.]
Somer Renee Thompson.
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler said he believes the person or persons responsible for killing 7-year-old Somer Thompson is watching the investigation closely.
Because of that, Beseler said that he will not talk about the girl's cause of death or any leads investigators are pursuing.

"The fact that we found Somer so quickly, I'm sure has unnerved the person responsible," Beseler told WJXT-TV.

During a news conference Wednesday morning, Beseler said investigators are still searching for clues.

"Yesterday was about Somer Thompson, today is about her killer," Beseler said.

The sheriff said investigators believe there are people with pertinent information to the case who have not yet come forward.

"We are asking the public to identify persons who have exhibited changed in their behavioral patterns," Beseler said.

Beseler said anyone who knows anyone who has exhibited certain behaviors, such as ceasing use of their vehicle, shaving or growing facial hair, an unnatural interest in the investigation or having unexplained injuries, should come forward.

The sheriff's office said it has received about 1,700 tips but does not know who killed the first-grader who disappeared while walking home from her Orange Park elementary school at about 2:45 p.m. Oct. 19.

Somer's body was found last Wednesday at the south Georgia landfill where Orange Park's garbage is dumped. Investigators will not say how she died, but Beseler called it a "heinous crime."

"It is a sheriff's worst nightmare; the one thing that every sheriff in this country fears the most is a child abduction murder case," Beseler said. "There's someone out there who's killed a child, and he's still out there in our community. He may not be right here in Orange Park, but they're still out in society. And I want that person off the street."

Beseler said 50 detectives have been on the streets asking questions of people in the community if they have any idea of what happened to Somer.

Beseler said those detectives would reinterview some people, while also following hundreds of tips he said investigators haven't even looked into yet.

Investigators are also waiting for the results of their search last week of an Orange Park home. Somer was last seen outside the home after running ahead of her siblings while walking home from school.

"We are yet to even start receiving information back from the crime labs," Beseler said. "This is going to be a process. It's going to take time."

So far, no one has come forward to say they saw the girl abducted or attacked. Investigators have talked to all 161 registered sex offenders who lived within a 5-mile radius of Somer's home, but that doesn't mean they've been cleared.

"Does that mean that one of them is not a suspect? No, it does not mean that," Beseler said. "It means that there was nothing that we saw immediately on the outset that made one of them an obvious suspect."

A funeral was held on Tuesday for Somer, and hundreds of balloons were released in her honor afterward.

Beseler: Change in Routine, Nervousness Among Suspect's Traits in Somer Thompson Case

ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- The Clay County Sheriff's Office wants to talk to specific people who may unknowingly be associated with the person responsible for the death of 7-year-old Somer Thompson.

First-grader Somer disappeared Oct. 19 while walking home from Grove Park Elementary School in Orange Park. After a tremendous community response and search, her body was found two days later by police at a Georgia landfill. She was buried Tuesday.

At a news conference today, Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler  asked the public to be alert to anyone they might know who has exhibited certain changes or unexplained behaviors. He suggested any changes.

"Yesterday was about Somer Thompson; today is about her killer," Beseler said.

He read from a script that was prepared by the FBI and reviewed by the sheriff's office. He was asked not to take questions live.

"We are asking the public's assistance in identifying persons who have exhibited changes in behavioral patterns," he said.

He also confirmed that police, a team of more than 50 from various agencies, have fielded hundreds of tips and he thanked the public for continued support and help.

The behavioral trains he listed were:

Leaving the area unexpectedly
Missing work or routine engagements
Having unexplained injuries
Having an unnatural interest in the status of the investigation
Having noted increase in nervousness and irritability
Sudden change in physical appearance, such as shaving off facial hair
Changing vehicles
Changing religious beliefs
Changing sleep patterns
Changing use of alcohol, drugs or cigarettes

I don't think it necessarily indicates they don't have an "idea" who did this...Maybe just need more clarification from a witness. Is this what they say for every case like this? Maybe it's just me, but I am reading a lot into this. I'll just say what popped into my mind...

--He said to look for "Scratches on hand, arms, or head" - So do they have evidence that Somer fought back? (so sad!)
--They definitely sound like they think it's a male
--To me, sounds like they don't suspect a drifter
--Missing work, so does that mean NOT a construction worker that day?
--Changing vehicles--so is there evidence that a car was involved? He said "work or personal vehicle" ...He mentioned if the person "gave away" their vehicle. If she was killed in the car or transported in the car after death, would the perp GIVE the car away? Maybe they think it was just used for transportation to another location.
--The behavioral stuff could be anybody. I think we're ALL nervous in this community and have interest in the case!

Peace to all, going for a walk now... Sad

Tarkington said he was at the Thompson home speaking with her mother, Diena Thompson, for about an hour on Oct. 22, after the sheriff’s office confirmed the body found in landfill was that of her daughter, Somer. Sam Thompson, the child’s father, lives in Graham, N.C., and is estranged from Somer’s mother. Another of Somer’s siblings, Andrew Cardinal, lives in the family home in Orange Park.
