It really pi$$es me off to see Ambulance chaser Anthonys at Somer's funeral..
They must be craving some more attention since their little "cruise vacation"...Wonder if they will be expecting an appearance fee...sorry but they make me sick!

Somer Thompson case: Profile of a possible suspect
Sheriff asks community to notice certain changes in someone's behavior,

    * By Dana Treen
    * Story updated at 6:23 AM on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009
The apprehension of a suspect in the death of Orange Park's Somer Thompson could hinge on a haircut, or a sudden unexpected trip.

Today Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler asked people in the community to be on alert for those and other changes in the personality or actions of those they know.

At a news briefing Beseler said people may not know that they hold information pertinent to the case. He said people may not have come forward because they did not think the changes they have noticed were relevant.

"They will recognize the changes, and may even question the person about it, but may not relate the changes to that person's involvement in this crime," he said.

Somer, a 7-year-old first-grader disappeared Oct. 19 as she was walking home from Grove Park Elementary School in Orange Park. Her body was found two days later in a Georgia landfill.

Based on an FBI case analysis, a suspect could have made one or more changes in his or her lifestyle.

Ten changes or scenarios that might be significant include:

— Leaving the area unexpectedly for what seems a very plausible reason.
Missing work or other routine engagement, particularly on the evening or night of Oct. 19.

— Unexplained injuries, such as cuts or bruises on the head, hand or arms.

— An unnatural interest in the state of the investigation.

— A noted increase in nervousness and irritability.

— Sudden shaving of facial hair, haircut, or the growth of a mustache or beard.

— No longer operating their personal work vehicle for no obvious reason.

— An increase or decrease in the expression of religious beliefs.

— Changes in routine sleep patterns.

— Changes in the usual levels of alcohol, drug or cigarette use.

Those with information that may be important to the resolution of the crime should call the investigative tip line at (877) 227-6911.

Sheriff: Somer's Killer Watching Us
7-Year-Old Girl's Body Found In Georgia Landfill

POSTED: Wednesday, October 28, 2009
UPDATED: 5:00 pm EDT October 28, 2009

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler said he believes the person or persons responsible for killing 7-year-old Somer Thompson is watching the investigation closely.
Because of that, Beseler said that he will not talk about the girl's cause of death or any leads investigators are pursuing.

"The fact that we found Somer so quickly, I'm sure has unnerved the person responsible," Beseler told WJXT-TV.

During a news conference Wednesday morning, Beseler said investigators are still searching for clues.

"Yesterday was about Somer Thompson, today is about her killer," Beseler said.

The sheriff said investigators believe there are people with pertinent information to the case who have not yet come forward.

"We are asking the public to identify persons who have exhibited changed in their behavioral patterns," Beseler said.

Beseler said anyone who knows anyone who has exhibited certain behaviors, such as ceasing use of their vehicle, shaving or growing facial hair, an unnatural interest in the investigation or having unexplained injuries, should come forward.

The sheriff's office said it has received about 1,700 tips but does not know who killed the first-grader who disappeared while walking home from her Orange Park elementary school at about 2:45 p.m. Oct. 19.

Somer's body was found last Wednesday at the south Georgia landfill where Orange Park's garbage is dumped. Investigators will not say how she died, but Beseler called it a "heinous crime."

"It is a sheriff's worst nightmare; the one thing that every sheriff in this country fears the most is a child abduction murder case," Beseler said. "There's someone out there who's killed a child, and he's still out there in our community. He may not be right here in Orange Park, but they're still out in society. And I want that person off the street."

Beseler said 50 detectives have been on the streets asking questions of people in the community if they have any idea of what happened to Somer.

Beseler said those detectives would reinterview some people, while also following hundreds of tips he said investigators haven't even looked into yet.

Investigators are also waiting for the results of their search last week of an Orange Park home. Somer was last seen outside the home after running ahead of her siblings while walking home from school.

"We are yet to even start receiving information back from the crime labs," Beseler said. "This is going to be a process. It's going to take time."

So far, no one has come forward to say they saw the girl abducted or attacked. Investigators have talked to all 161 registered sex offenders who lived within a 5-mile radius of Somer's home, but that doesn't mean they've been cleared.

"Does that mean that one of them is not a suspect? No, it does not mean that," Beseler said. "It means that there was nothing that we saw immediately on the outset that made one of them an obvious suspect."

A funeral was held on Tuesday for Somer, and hundreds of balloons were released in her honor afterward.
oooh maybe my tv show theory was right... like how on tv csi shows and what not how the killer returns to the scene or the search or the funeral... wish they had a camera set up at the entrance of the funeral... also i wonder why they are convinced that the killer is following the case... why follow the case? to see if they are close to catching you like paranoia or to play a cat and mouse game with the cops because they like the hunt... or does that just mean that the killer is an insider... no not like a fam member but someone close enough to the fam to find out inside info from the fam under the guise of concerned

Morning Monkeys!

That's a good list from the FBI. Thanks for posting the article, Trimm! I couldn't help but to measure Casey Anthony against it and she would have fit a couple of the criteria listed. I hope it helps find whoever did this!

looks like the same guy to me klaas....
funny that the cops think the guy is watching the case and my gut said that from the beginning... that maybe this guy wanted to play a little hunt game with the cops... and i pictured him being that guy in the background of search pics etc... and now you just found exactly what i was picturing... not saying he is the guy or that he is definitely the one in the picture but my hinky meter is up.... wonder if this pic is what led police to say the killer could possibly be following the case

thanks klaasend. I can't explain why but this particular case grabbed at me and I have been following it since it first happened. I have twins  that are the same age as Somer so maybe that is why. IDK but that Kuhn guy gives me the creeps. I asked earlier why would someone have to wait for an appt to talk to the LE? that is just nuts.
that comment is from 2008 if that's what you menat by wait a week to talk to le

I know every one seems focused on a RSO or even an UnRSO.  So I realize the comments I am about to make will likely not be popular.

I am not here to start making a villian out of the mother or accuse her of anything.  Nor am I a judge of the proper way to react to such a tragedy.  I just want to make sure all possibilties are explored.

SO with that being said...is any one else disturbed my some of the mother's video footage?

There is one thing in particular that I cannot get past.  Watch her video and you will see moments where a very slight smile/smirk will cross her face.  She does is several times but the most disturbing to me is when she speaks directly to camera about getting the person responsible.

I'm not talking about laughing as a reaction to an emotional situation.  I know that happens.  This is a smile/smirk that is so slight IMO because she is trying to surpress it.

Again, I know this isn't popular and I understand if no one wants to discuss.  But perhaps in all your searching, you might also look closer to the family.

that fbi 10 signs of possible suspect list is good... it is common stuff that people might notice but not affiliate with this case... that is true... however the list is really broad and i can't even imagine how many go no where tips are going to be called in in response to these changes in people... i myself fit about 6 of them

Madmom, do you have a link to that particular video?  I admit I really haven't watched many of them and I'd like to see what you are referring to.  TIA

i agree sort except that i do think it is the same guy just a lot skinnier in one pic... the cheek bones are exact and so are the offset of the smile lines around the mouth... my husband has a cleft chin and he is pretty skinny but when he gains 10 lbs his chin dimple disappears... chins can change with weight gain but cheek bones and smile lines don't
