This is just insane! since when do they just let killers go home and wait it out!?!?!? WTF?

Hi Northern!

I am off to Dr. see you all later

 an angelic monkey

I agree about insane.  It is not safe for the other minors that live in that house on so many levels.  Grandma was running a daycare out of the House as well.  Holy Smoly they better have a big broom and bigger flame resistant rug if they really want this hot potatoe to stay under a rug.  By all accounts if they actually let her go home, is the state not knowingly putting other minors at risk?

Hope your appointment goes well.

Amber Alert program is making a difference

<Snipped>
In the past three years, Keith said, there have been more than 50 Amber Alert cases in which the abductor heard about the alert and abandoned the child.

At 7:30 p.m. tonight, there will be a vigil for Somer Thompson and Elizabeth Olten at the Franklin Street pedestrian mall in downtown Tampa, Keith said.

Somer, 7, of Orange Park, was found slain last week at a Georgia landfill.

Elizabeth, 9, was found dead in Missouri woods last week, two days after she went missing.

Keith expects many symposium attendees to attend the vigil, including relatives of past abductees.

O/T The Anthonys showed up a Sommer's funeral today, so they are sure to show up at the vigil. Sigh.......

If any one of her siblings are in fact the ones that gave the hand written notes to LE which led them to her, how safe does anyone think it would be to send her home until her hearing knowing that the person who turned you in sleeps there?   I need a Linda Blair head spinning monkey and a barf bag monkey thinking about this.

Hearings set for teen accused of killing girl

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (AP) -- A 15-year-old accused of killing 9-year-old Elizabeth Olten is to appear in a Missouri court Wednesday.

Cole County Juvenile Court Administrator Michael Couty said Tuesday the hearing is to determine whether the teen should continue to be detained. Couty says the 15-year-old would appear by videoconference, and a hearing is scheduled for Nov. 18 to determine whether the teen should be tried as an adult.

Both hearings could be open to the public.

Police have not released the suspect's name or gender, but say Elizabeth and the 15-year-old lived in the same area and were acquainted. Hundreds of people searched a woody area in St. Martins after Elizabeth did not return home from a friend's house. Her body was discovered Friday.

Just think if the powers that be let this 15 year old go home, and she kills someone in the neighborhood or her family, imagine what would happen, it is just good old common sense to make sure this girl stays put

yes.  Putting the other minors at risk.

And certainly putting their entire case at risk.  This girl could very well do away with herself.  Or there could be acts of violence against her and her family.

Don't forget the FOX webcam and protesters in front of the Scamthonys.

It would be a circus, imo.

Reader comments:

are you kidding me?
Are they seriously going to consider letting this kid go home until the hearing? From what I have seen and read, he/she IS a threat to society as well as any and all family members who reside in her household. If wrong decisions are made along the way in this case, I have a feeling this community will pour out an outrage like Jefferson City has never seen.

Are they serious??
If they are stupid enough to let the suspect out pending trial I suspect there won't be any trial needed.

Justice?
"A detention meeting will be held tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. to discuss whether the suspect will remain in the custody of the court or stay at her home until the certification hearing."

Are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!!

This 15 year old girl is satan's child by her obvious acts! Now, we should house her, educate her, and let her live all of the honest taxpayers? I have to pay for my daughter's education!

I hope she gets to go home and wait for court.....PLEASE I hope somebody saves us all the money and gets rid of her!

Sick to death of children dying for the sake of one selfish act!

R.I.P. Elizabeth......cc

outraged parent
What are you kidding me? Why would they consider the release of this child. I can tell you one thing if she relased they better expect for Jeff City public scholls to be emptied out. I will not sit by and hear that she killed another child. This is wrong and this girl deserves to sit in her little hole not be free. What kind of message does releasing her give. I will camp out right in front of this girls house to make sure that my child is safe. Watch for my tent if they release her!!!!!!!
