Volunteer members of a group searching for 9-year-old Elizabeth Olten said they were told by law enforcement officials that no more people would be sent out to search for the girl. Officials have scheduled a 7 p.m. news conference to discuss the case.   Posted by Matt

She is tall for a 9 year old isn't she? 5'2"? That size of a girl could have been mistaken as an adult walking down the street. Does that area have prostitution?

Yes I thought that as well.  At age 9 I do not think my daughter was even 4'2.

The reports are confusing. Why would they send volunteers home? They might ask if they could hang flyers or something, but too many? I will just wait until the press conference I guess. It is only 2:25 hear, what time is it at?

Officers Enforce Sex Registration

BOONE COUNTY - Officers from the Boone County Sheriff's Department conducted a daylong search on Thursday to reinforce registration for sex offenders.

Convicted sex offenders are required to register with law enforcement according to Missouri State Law RsMO 589.400 and the federal Adam Walsh Act. According to a release, officer tried to contact 78 people, they were successful with 39. Officers discovered four violations and made three arrests for violations.

All convicted sex offenders covered under these laws are encouraged to register at the Sheriff's Department by calling 573-875-1111.

Yes I thought that as well.  At age 9 I do not think my daughter was even 4'2.

All i can say is that in 5th grade i was the tallest girl in the class, and i never grew anymore again, i became shorter and shorter than everyone as the yrs went on and i am 5' 4"

I find it VERY sad that it takes something like this to open LE's eyes to this problem

They were only successfull contacting half of them.  Yup the whole SO back in the community monitoring sure is working well as long as they did not set their goals above 50% compliance rate.
