ST. MARTINS -- Update:

Police found the body of Elizabeth Olten just minutes ago near the area search crews were looking for her.

A written note from an unidentified lead police to juvenile offender, where they also found Elizabeth's body.

An older  juvenile is in custody. Authorities would not say if the juvenile is a boy or girl.

The juvenile is local to the area and has no connection to the family.

A press conference has just ended, more information will be available soon.

10 min ago - Juvenile in Custody in Olten Disappearance
The Cole County Sheriff's Department tells us - the body of 9-year-old Elizabeth Olten has been found. A juvenile is in custody, connected to the death. Authorities believe the juvenile knew of the family but was not directly connected to them. Elizabeth's cell phone was found, and investigators say hand written notes and other physical evidence lead them to the suspect. That suspect led them to Elizabeth’s body. All we know at this point is the body was found in a wooded area and is being recovered. Elizabeth went missing Wednesday evening, walking home from a friends house just a few blocks away. Since that time hundreds of people had been searching for her. We have a reporter at the scene getting more information from Sheriff's Department.   Posted by Adam Forgie

Not directly connected to the family, how old are Jasmin's children?

Not sure how old they are.  But I would assume, and that is just me, that Jasmine's children would be connected because of Elizabeths dad. 

I think that this may be a kid/teen  who thought she had something they wanted...bullied her. Which went to far.
But then Again, the post in topix earlier was just toooo erie.

This is just too much that a child killed a child.  I don't even know what to think right now.  I was really hoping they would find her.

You have really been bustin your a$$ on this one Northern, thank you, such a sad outcome 

When I saw her picture I was drawn to her as my daughter looked very similar at the same age.  It is the worst outcome.  Now another child's life is also ruined along with their family.

 

What a horrible week it has been. I am going to go take a breather and go meet my daughter at the school bus.

NRCG, I saw a pic of them with their mom, they seemed to be around ,8 9, 10 or so at the time? I dont' know when the pic was taken, had to be more then 2 years ago..I am not sure if they would be said to be an older teen?

Personally, from what I have read, when children kill, there really isnt a reason.  The only sure reason is, when they feel like they are being alienated from their parent that remarries.

Most children that kill, and then again, we dont know, but this person could be 16, 17..but most that kill, really dont have a reason.

If its not jealousy, its just pure evil thoughts they cant control, or they just dont have a reason.

Will be interesting for educational purposes to see why.

She was 32 when she went missing in June 17 2007.  She called the father of her children and her kids that she was going to be picking up the kids on the 18th and never showed up. Her mother filed a missing person report on 21st.  Police had found her car abandoned before the missing person report was filed and towed it as it was on private land.  It was abandoned on a bridge the opposite direction as the father of the kids house, the plates were pulled off.  Through the VIN number they determined that it was Jasmines.  She was to appear in court on June 18 and was out on a $50,000 bond for the drug bust with Dale Sr.
