This is a what if......A teenager hit her with a automobile driving on the hwy she was walking home on....freaked out and took her into the woods.

I was seeing something about that on another forum, also, a new poster on WS first post, and all it said, was 15 girl. So I don't know if this person was causing trouble or this person knows it was a girl that is 15.  Could very well be a teenager accidently hit her with the car and hid her body, but surely there would have been blood on the highway.

Good thinking   NRCG   I  did not think about blood on the road but it was raining heavily...Speaking of WS  they turned me down said my email was not good or something so I don't go over there....now I feel nosy and will have to see what they have to say.

I really doubt that another teen could take a 108lb girl deep into the woods 1/4 mile by themselves.  It has been raining so if they drove surely they were would have been tire tracks.

From reporter on NG speaking to Sherriff:

Police received a hand written note. 
Note led them to POI, 
POI led them to body in the woods. 
Body was within the search area that they had searched over twice since Weds. 
Do not know if POI is boy or girl
Do not know if POI is being charged as adult.

The POI was "a bit" older.  That means 11,12?

Searchers had searched the area that Elizabeth was found in twice and did not find her.  POI took police directly to the body.

Jefferson City Public School’s Superintendent Brian Mitchell issued the following statement upon receiving news of Elizabeth Olten’s death:

 “We are deeply saddened by the events related to Elizabeth Olten's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. We will continue to concentrate all of our efforts in taking care of our students at Pioneer Trail Elementary School. Next week we will have additional counselors available at the school and provide whatever support is needed for the students, their parents, and our own faculty and staff at Pioneer Trail.”

Dr. Mitchell stated that the school district would continue to assist local law enforcement as they investigate the case.

UPDATE: Missing 9-Year-Old Girl Found Dead

ST. MARTINS, Mo. (October 23, 2009)—The search for a 9-year-old Missouri girl who vanished after visiting a friend earlier this week ended Friday, but the ending was not the one the dozens of law enforcement officers and volunteers involved in the effort hoped for.

Searchers found Elizabeth Olten dead Friday afternoon in the wooded area that had been the focus of the search effort.

 The Cole County sheriff says Olten left a friend's house shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday to walk to her home, about a quarter mile away.

She was used to walking the quarter-mile to her home through neighbors' yards.

She was reported missing around 7 p.m. Wednesday and is listed as an "endangered missing person."

Federal authorities joined the search, which was narrowed to a section of the wooded areas to which police briefly traced the girl’s cell phone until the batter died Thursday.

More than 200 volunteers showed up Friday to help nearly 100 emergency personnel in the search, so many that some had to be turned away.

Cole County’s sheriff said a person of interest from the area, who is a juvenile, helped them find the 4th grader’s body.

Written notes led investigators to the juvenile, the sheriff said.

Yes that is my assumption.  I stated earlier that there will be 2 students not in school on Monday and the rumour mill will be buzzsing based on who is not in school.  I am really concerned about the term "a bit old".  I am doing a new map now that I know which house was the friends and show you my thoughts.  I think this is related to either the friends home or one of the 4 homes in between.  Not enough time for another child to do the murder and take her into the woods, or take her into the woods and murder her and then get back before police are all over the place.  They would have a small window from what we know.

Also want to add that they took police directly to her body when searchers missed finding her twice.  So that means it is someone who knew those woods well.
