Elizabeth's school district issues statement

Jefferson City Public School’s Superintendent Brian Mitchell issued the following statement upon receiving news of Elizabeth Olten’s death:

“We are deeply saddened by the events related to Elizabeth Olten's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. We will continue to concentrate all of our efforts in taking care of our students at Pioneer Trail Elementary School. Next week we will have additional counselors available at the school and provide whatever support is needed for the students, their parents, and our own faculty and staff at Pioneer Trail.”

Dr. Mitchell stated that the school district would continue to assist local law enforcement as they investigate the case.

I guess that means the POI is a student there too.

Yes that is my assumption.  I stated earlier that there will be 2 students not in school on Monday and the rumour mill will be buzzsing based on who is not in school.  I am really concerned about the term "a bit old".  I am doing a new map now that I know which house was the friends and show you my thoughts.  I think this is related to either the friends home or one of the 4 homes in between.  Not enough time for another child to do the murder and take her into the woods, or take her into the woods and murder her and then get back before police are all over the place.  They would have a small window from what we know.
A bit older, a bit older would mean to me 11-13  How in the he!! did that kid do this? And the person who wrote the note, did the killer confess to this kid or what? OMG This kid must be big to have done this, no?

Do not know what the note said.  Could have been a recount of what they did and a friend/sibling found it and handed it to LE maybe.  I am thinking the POI goes to the same elementary school from the school board statement and the "bit older" so no older than 13 or you would be in middle school?

Elizabeth was 5'2" and 108 lbs so not sure what or how this other child did but she was big for her age.

Klaas can I post the friends address?

How do we know it's THE friend?  Not sure what good the address will do us now.  Let me think on that for a minute, ok?

I have blacked out the address until a mod tells me it is OK to post. This is the friends house she was at.  If you note you only see it when you are at street view.  It is a new house and the long windy drive runs beside and around the pond.  In the small overhead view it does not show up at all but you can see the pond.

So we have already seen this address?  It's the address of the friends house she was leaving from?  If that is the case, OK to post the address again.

OMG, that reminds me of where I used to live in the "country". I can't imagine walking home in that kind of terrain when it is getting darktime.

I am not sure if the actual address has been posted anywhere which is why I asked.  It was reported that the friend was in the 300 block however which is how I will refer to it.  I know it is the friend from a searcher that was interviewed in one of the articles as well as the new map that was up on FOX.  They had a house mapped out that does not exist when you are in overhead view but when you go to street view you have an AHA moment.

I am not sure about this particular area, but there are a lot of caves in Missouri, although you wouldn't expect that looking at the terrain. I have a feeling Elizabeth's body was in a crevice or small hidden cave since the area had been searched twice. Possibly somewhere that kids in the area would know about. But how another child could have gotten her there is another matter.

Here is my best guess of where the house would be from the overhead view based on how the driveway turns and the stable and riding pen in both views on the left.

And Elizabeth's house is on Rte 4, I'm guessing?

I think JSM was asking about the NOTE coming from another minor child.

All those reports that there were only 4 houses in between were correct and she never had to cross the highway.  She could walk along the back of the houses by the woodline, or along the front yards and not have to step out on the highway.

Yes Rte D and Lomo Drive are the same as you can see from the last map.  As for the written note, it was left/given to LE by another juvenile.

Wow, that is scary when your child can't even walk four houses home without worry.

So I am wondering if the woods they are referring to where Elizabeth was found was the tree line behind the houses on her route home.
