AngieIf you Google KRCG Jefferson City (the local tv station), you will get some more updates. There is a fund for her funeral and to help with Anjomy's education. That is her brother, who's in the 8th grade. I know him, they used to be our neighbors and he's a year behind my son and they were friends. He is a sweet boy and te family has it really rough. Dad in prison, etc. Anyway, you can get details there, I'm sure, because they talked about the fund on tv.

Thank-you Northern Rose, and Dale Sr they believe may have been responsible for Jasmine's disappearance?  And what a beautiful pic of Elizabeth, she was a very pretty little girl 

He is the suspect in her disappearance.

Thanks, when I made my post I was referring to the guns and drugs, not that this was right by any means. I certainly hope for Jasmine's mother and children an arrest will be made for her disappearance

Cole County sheriff to discuss the slaying of Elizabeth Olten, 9

Cole County Sheriff Greg White will hold a news conference at 11 this morning in connection with the slaying of 9-year-old Elizabeth Olten.

No details of what White will discuss at the news conference were being released, a dispatcher at the sheriff's department said this morning. The news conference will be at the VFW in St. Martins, west of Jefferson City.

Elizabeth's body was found Friday after she disappeared Wednesday while walking from a neighbor's home.

A juvenile suspect is in custody, the sheriff said Friday.

No Rose had found someone on two sites last night claiming it was a 15 year old girl.  All the news that have made comment have only stated that a boy was in custody.  We will find out the truth at some point.

I wonder if this is the same person who popped up on WS and In Session forum yesterday saying it was a girl?    I thought it was a boy? Regardless, boy or girl how horrific.

First of all, my heartfelt sympathy goes out to the mother and other concerned members of the family on the loss of Elizabeth. I noticed that two funds had been set up for the family. One is for a memorial for Elizabeth to which I would gladly contribute. The other, however, is an educational fund for her older brother. First of all, is this the same brother that was arrested with his father in April for the string of burglaries in Eugene and surrounding areas? If so, why in the world would anyone ask for or donate to an education fund? Usually, when an education fund is set up it is because the parent is dead and they leave behind children. This request for donations to a brothers education fund sounds to me like someone is trying to gain from the tragic death of this child.
