Also, interesting that the roommate was female and her parents went with her to turn Harrell's computer and disks over to LE.

Also interesting that Harrell was reportedly living in the 1152 Gano house after his parentls moved out. Sounds like he was camping out at an abandoned house at the time of the murder. Didn't LE go door-to-door on this block talking to residents and wouldn't they notice that this address was vacant, and wouldn't that raise a red flag?

maybe not...
we had a poster here i forget which one but she was from the neighborhood and would walk around and was very observant... i remember asking her about houses for sale and houses being worked on by that construction company an d she did not report any other vacant houses... could have had blinds down lawn kept up etc.

i  hate that it wasn't processed sooner but it must be pretty hard to determine who's computer... who's discs.... when the file was created... where the file came from where the file was sent to...etc.

That is very true, and I'm sure the police are extremely busy, just frustrating. I believe there has to be more also.

At the 3:36 mark a guy with a whit tee shirt. I don't think that is the perp in the white tee shirt, but it sure looks like the perp to me in the brown jacket.

I put this together quickly from that video, no rose:



Harrell is 6'2". I do not think he is the one in the white tee-shirt, because he does not appear to be 6'2" to me.

The brown jacket? Possibly. I am not a good judge, but you all can see and decide for yourselves.

According to this article, they moved out 2 weeks BEFORE Somer's murder, not after.

Thus, leaving Harrell behind perhaps and he stayed in the house during the time of her murder. (This sentence is my speculation.)

Dailey, 66, owned the single-story brick house since 1996, according to Clay County property appraiser records. I found this obit for General Dailey. He died in 2005. So he didn't "move out late last year. Maybe the rest of his family who was living there did.

also an annomoly i want to point out the person that did an internet search of the myspace name for jarred...
that gaming site is also a site that another jarred same exact name same exact age visited on the same exact day... the other jarred is supposedly married... and i noticed a lot of computer activity on 11/20th... a lot ... not much before or after...
not sure if that means anything but it is kind of weird that 2 different jarred harrell's same age were on the same sites on the same day

maybe a different one? i didn't think the name general was thhat common but this guy named 2 of his kids that so i dunno?
weird... maybe his mother was married to general and inherrited the house then remarried and gave jarred a new step daddy? hence the house still being his mother and step father's?

'Person of interest' in Somer Thompson case arrested by FBI in Mississippi

ORANGE PARK – A 24-year-old man arrested on 29 counts of possession of child pornography also has been named as a person of interest in the abduction and murder four months ago of 7-year-old Somer Thompson.

Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler said during a 7 p.m. news conference on Thursday, Feb. 11, that FBI agents took Jarred Mitchell Harrell into custody without incident in Meridian, Miss., earlier in the day after investigators from that agency joined Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement personnel in searching a house at 1152 Gano Ave. for evidence related to the child pornography charges.

Beseler said the child pornography charges stem from instances that occurred while Harrell lived in Clay County. An arrest warrant accuses Harrell of downloading pornographic images and movies of girls – some as young as 6 years old -- on a computer at a Wells Road apartment he shared with roommates. Harrell left behind several computer disks after the roommates booted him out of the apartment in early August for stealing an iPod from one of the roommates, according to the arrest report.

The roommates became suspicious of the content on the disks and turned them over to police on Aug. 10 after discovering pornographic images and movie clips of children ranging in age from 6 to about 12, the report said.

Beseler said Harrell once lived at the house that was searched, but did not give a time frame. The house is near a vacant house where Somer last was seen on her way home from school on Oct. 19. Clay County Sheriff’s Office detectives found her body two days later in a South Georgia landfill.

Investigators have spent a great deal of time collecting forensic evidence at the vacant house, but media interest intensified on Thursday after FBI and other police agency activity was observed at the 1152 Gano Ave. house.

Beseler said searches also were conducted at residences in Callahan, Fla., and Lauderdale County, Miss., as well as a vehicle at an unspecified location. He did not elaborate or take questions from the media during Thursday’s news conference.

Harrell is being held on a $1 million bond in a Meridian jail, Beseler said.

“I cannot comment further about how Harrell may be connected to the Thompson case as that would require I comment on evidence in an ongoing investigation,” Beseler read from a prepared statement. “Throughout this entire investigation we have been very careful to protect the integrity of our investigation by not releasing details that could be detrimental to the successful outcome or prosecution of the person responsible for this crime.”

Meanwhile, a public relations firm representing Somer Thompson’s mother, Diena, issued a statement saying that she and her family are monitoring the latest developments in the investigation.

“However, Diena is not prepared to speak publicly on the matter and asks that you please respect her and her family’s privacy as they continue to process events as they unfold,” the statement said.
