Would love to know why, it remains unclear why those materials were not processed until after Somer's death. 

Is there some backlog of processing for child porn?!

Also, interesting that the roommate was female and her parents went with her to turn Harrell's computer and disks over to LE.

Also interesting that Harrell was reportedly living in the 1152 Gano house after his parentls moved out. Sounds like he was camping out at an abandoned house at the time of the murder. Didn't LE go door-to-door on this block talking to residents and wouldn't they notice that this address was vacant, and wouldn't that raise a red flag?

You would think that the child porn would be a priority, but I have no idea.    I just saw this on WS, like to know what you all think.  This is a video, at the 1:29 mark a guy in a brown jacket at the vigil. At the 3:36 mark a guy with a whit tee shirt. I don't think that is the perp in the white tee shirt, but it sure looks like the perp to me in the brown jacket.

I put this together quickly from that video, no rose:



Harrell is 6'2". I do not think he is the one in the white tee-shirt, because he does not appear to be 6'2" to me.

The brown jacket? Possibly. I am not a good judge, but you all can see and decide for yourselves.

also an annomoly i want to point out the person that did an internet search of the myspace name for jarred...
that gaming site is also a site that another jarred same exact name same exact age visited on the same exact day... the other jarred is supposedly married... and i noticed a lot of computer activity on 11/20th... a lot ... not much before or after...
not sure if that means anything but it is kind of weird that 2 different jarred harrell's same age were on the same sites on the same day

She has a classmates page that shows her maiden and married name. She has a FB and her daughter is one of her friends, also her new husband is on there, and he has a picture of a white dog and owns home that was searched. The daughter owns the house he lived in when he was arrested for traffic violations.

Harrell aunt calls him "sweet dough boy"

My photojournalist and I just left the house Harrell was staying at in Meridian. He was staying with his Aunt, Kriss Mizelle.

Mizelle's house was searched by the FBI Thursday afternoon and the computers were taken.

Mizelle tells me Harrell was visiting her last week. She said he enjoyed Meridian and started looking for a job.

She says Harrell was just a "big dough boy" and a good guy. She doesn't believe he had child pornography or has anything to do with Somer Thompson's death.

"He wasn't hiding. He wasn't acting strange," Mizelle told me.

Mizelle is upset because she says people are jumping to conclusions about her nephew.

"He's not a freak," she told me.

Harrell's family friends suspect him in Somer's murder

MIDDLEBURG, Fla. -- The parents of Jarred Harrell's old roommates say he was the first person they thought of when Somer disappeared.

Rod and Lisa Buchanan are family friends with Jarred Harrell. Their daughter and her fiance lived with Harrell in the summer of 2009 in an apartment off the 2000 block of Wells. Rd in Orange Park.

The Buchanans tell Action News, Harrell was kicked out of the apartment for stealing an I-Pod. Police say Harrell left a computer and some CDs at the Orange Park apartment.

When the roommates suspected Harrell had child porn on his computer, they took a closer look at the computer.

"She called me at work crying and was sick to her stomach," said Lisa Buchanan about the day in August when her daughter called and told her about what she found on the computer.

Buchanan says her daughter and her fiance turned the computer over to police.

Police say Harrell's computer contained pictures and videos of child porn.

Some of the pictures, according to police, were on a CD labeled "Don't lose music."

In October, when 7-year-old Somer Thompson disappeared and was found dead, the Buchanans suspected Harrell right away.

"You just get that sick instinct in your gut," said Lisa Buchanan.

The Buchanans say Harrell lived on Gano Avenue near Somer Thompson's Orange Park home when the little girl went missing. The same home was searched all day Thursday by detectives and the FBI.

The Middleburg couple has little doubt that Harrell is Somer's killer. "My gut instinct is yes," said Lisa Buchanan.

I see his aunt's name is Kriss Mozelle though.
