Good question, especially after Somer went missing if she said anything to the police? It is obvious people were aware of him, I'm sure she isn't the only one

You know that sick feeling you get in your gut around some people? Always TRUST it and teach your kids to trust it too. You feel that way for a reason. You don't need to rationalize it, just go with it and get the hell away from the creep.

Looking at his face I would have spotted him from a mile away as a perv ... he gives me the creeps.

I wish things like this wouldn't happen. It seems to be getting more and more frequent and I'm sick of it.

Yes. I wonder too. And I wonder if the Buchanans, (the daughter and parents who turned over the computer and disks) who stated they really thought he was involved in Somer's murder said that to LE. I would think they had, since they were proactive in turning him over to LE concerning the child porn.

Aunt Kriss(sister of Annis) thinks the POI is a harmless "doughboy" and likes zombies and gore.

The article says the marriage to Newman was not legally binding. He was married at the time to someone else. Who quickly divorced him and took their kid with her.

MERIDIAN, Miss. -- Channel 4 reporter Jennifer Bauer and photojournalist Matt James traveled to Lauderdale County, Miss., where the man named a person of interest in the abduction and killing of Somer Thompson is in jail on child pornography charges.

She is sending periodic updates from the place where Jarred Harrell moved sometime after leaving the home on Gano Avenue in Orange Park that the FBI and other authorities searched for evidence Thursday afternoon and evening.

Bauer is sending blog posts throughout the day on what she has learned about Harrell's life there and if and when he will appear in court on the charges. Her most recent posts will be first. Scroll down to read more.

Friday, 11:11 a.m.:

Friday, 10:15 a.m.: Went to the house where Harrell lived in Meridian and talked with a woman who identified herself as his aunt. She said, "I don't believe a thing that they are saying about him. He is not a monster."

Friday, 8:44 a.m.: I just had a cup of coffee with the sheriff (yes, this town is as small as you'd imagine). He says Harrell is in his jail, but like we've been reporting all day, the courts are closed down. If he goes before a judge, the sheriff is going to call me so we can get the perp walk.

Sheriff tells me it won't exactly be a "first appearance" but more of a hearing to see what's going to happen to him. He'll likely be taken to Orange Park and may make is official "first appearance" there since it's their warrant. Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler will have those answers.

In the meantime, we're going to drive around town and find where this guy lived, worked etc....

Friday, 7:32 a.m.: Snow!!! The town is shut down. According to the radio reports they're expecting 5-7 inches.

I know a group of people who work at a very large and popular "haunted house" during Halloween time.  They too have oodles and gobs of pics like that posted on their myspace accounts and I see the aunt also talks about a haunted house on her myspace.  While quite disturbing looking, I don't put much stock in these photos.  The people I know who are into this, are quite normal otherwise.  LOL.

Neighbors call Somer's possible killer 'strange'

ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- People who live near the former home of Jarred Harrell on Gano Avenue describe him as 'strange.'

Sandra Russell lived across the street and called him 'weird.'

"He waved at all of the kids here, he waved at all of the children," she said. "I just knew that he wasn't normal. Somebody like that is not normal."

Connie Torres also lived in the neighborhood and says she had a funny feeling about Harrell.

"Something just told me to keep my eye on over that house, she said. "I noticed he would only come out and smoke cigarettes when the kids were out of school."

Although investigators may now be closer to finding Somer's killer, people like Russell are still outraged that a little girl was even kidnapped and killed in her own neighborhood.

"I'm angry because this is my neighborhood," said Russell. "These children have a right to walk around to and from school without harm being done to them."
