Good morning Monkeys
Has anyone done a business search for the company working on the house? Can someone post the name of the business? It starts with a "V" Versallis or something. I can't find it. 

I think "kyle" is a made up name, if not then I think every news person and their brother would be all over this person.

I was coming on to post about the construction dumpster and that they are not picked up with regular trash. I am also thinking maybe the person wanted her to be found? This morning I was considering whether or not they placed her in a truck, tool box, trunk and took her out of the area but not sure why they would bring her back to dump her.

Depending on the condition of the electrical and if it had been repaired after the fire, they most likely do not have electrical. Usually a house under construction that is down to framing the plumping and electrical are still being repaired or installed. Once those things are done, the drywall goes up. I wonder how long they had been working on the house. To be at the stud stage still seems a bit slow to me unless the house was determined to be condemned or the permit process in Florida is slow. Anyhow, my point is, the electrical is most likely being worked on.

On a construction site there are many people usually. Electricians, plumbers, laborers, foremen...If she was taken at the house, and if I am correct in my thinking there were more then just 1 or 2 workers and could have been many, someone saw something. I would like to know the size of this design company and if they use subcontractors. It is also not unlikely that a construction worker have scratches and bruises, it is a common occurrence, that is why the workers comp for the industry is so expensive!

Vinson Design and Build is the construction company that was doing renovations on the house at 1080 Gano Avebue. The company has ~ 4 employees, IIRC.

Someone here who lives in the area said that Andrew went to a different school as he was older and that the school he went to had a dismissal time of 3:45. From what we have read, it seems as if he went to play some sport
after school and Diena went to pick him up. Kid probably knew nothing about this until she went to get him. Time doesn't work for me. Neither does motive.
Or means or opportunity.
Also LE had asked  / mentioned wounds on a perp.
Think they might have looked at the closest persons to her first.

The person who called the news station calling himself " Kyle " who was working at the house is more interesting to me. The Kyle Wade Rose person is an RSO. he lives in Jacksonville. Wish there were more details available on the exact nature of what he did. He was into kiddy porn that was the basis for the conviction. Don't know if it is the same person.

Somer was according to Kyle at the burnt house, she had soot on her according to Samuel Thompson, CSI was at the house.   

I have considered if it may have been another child. There are so many possible scenarios. Accident/panic or on purpose...Somer was so little....It could have been another elementary student. It could have been a high school student. (High school lets out between 1:30 and 2:00 pm). It probably would not have been a jr high student since school isn't out until 3:45. However, we don't know when Somer was actually taken or killed. All we really know is the time her brother and sister reported her running ahead. Like many have theorized, she may have hidden or gone a completely different direction.

As far as her being last seen at the abandoned house, my first thought was that people tend to remember odd landmarks like that more often than just a regular yard or house. In other words, maybe she went farther than the abandoned house but that doesn't stand out in anyone's mind.

I do wish more would be revealed to the public. For example, if there were construction workers at the house that day or not. Many people would know that/remember that. I wonder why they haven't reported it on the news. Also, I totally understand/agree that LE should not give out too many details. But I suppose I am naive enough to wonder why it would hurt the case to let us know if she was sexually assaulted or not. Or to tell us if the perp is male or not. Or other very generic details. If someone were to give a FALSE confession, I am sure there would be other ways to verify it--details NOT given to the public, etc. It would just make those of us in the community better able to guard ourselves if we knew WHAT we were guarding ourselves from.

I noticed the sheriff has said "Child abduction and murder" which sort of leads me to believe they don't think it was a family member or another child. However, they have never actually said predator or pedophile, to my knowledge. John Walsh said predator but not the local LE. Am I right about that...?

My gut has told me from the beginning that this was something accidental or unplanned. Possibly a pedophile opportunity. But possibly a known offender. Like we have all said. The timeline is just so quick. And my gut also tells me it was someone local who knew trash pick up was Tuesday.

One last thing, I'm sure this has been clarified but I just wanted to mention this about LE checking the landfill. They said this IS common practice but what was different in this case was them following the trucks to the landfill so they would know where to look and not lose sight of the specific trucks.

At times Florida can seem to be the national epicenter of reported missing children and child abductions.

The cases here gain national prominence and rarely have happy endings. After the media fanfare is over, the children's names stick out as sad reminders: Carlie Brucia. Jessica Lunsford. Trenton Duckett. Caylee Anthony. Haleigh Cummings. And now Somer Thompson.

The state does hold a number of unfortunate distinctions when it comes to measuring the number of children reported missing and, what some consider a related statistic, the number of registered sex offenders in the state.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Florida generally ranks third in the nation — behind only California and Texas — for reported missing persons, most of whom are children, registered sex offenders and the number of "stereotypical kidnappings," the most serious kind of stranger abductions.

The numbers can seem frightening for parents. Florida had nearly 62,000 missing-person reports during 2007. And as of July, the state had 51,560 registered sex offenders.

The vast majority of missing-person cases end up getting resolved. Many times reported missing children are kids who get lost or are runaways, said Ernie Allen with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Many other cases involve custodial disputes. So of the roughly 800,000 kids reported missing nationwide each year, only about 58,000 represent "nonfamily abductions," Allen said. And only about 115 of those are defined as "stereotypical kidnappings."

Those involve someone the child does not know or has only a slight acquaintance with and who "holds the child overnight, transports the child 50 miles or more, kills the child, demands ransom or intends to keep the child permanently," according to Allen and U.S. Department of Justice statistics.

The large missing-persons numbers in California, Texas and Florida may be explained by a number of common factors.

"You've got large, populous states. You've got magnet states," Allen said. "You've got year-round climate, and kids tend to be relatively more accessible."

The large numbers of sex offenders in those states "probably" have some correlation, Allen said, but he also noted that not all sex offenders' crimes involve children.

"The 51,000 in Florida does not mean they all represent a serious threat to children in the state," said Allen, who has called for a tiered system for delineating sex offenders.

Florida ranks behind 13 other states in the number of sex offenders per 100,000 people. Florida has 281 such offenders per 100,000. Nationwide the ratio is 223 per 100,000.

Thanks for this Heart! I've been wanting to know the statistics. Did you notice the three top states are also hot climates? Statistics show that there are more violent crime in hot summer months. Also, there are more transient people in these states. People come from all over. Easy to just wander or live in a car or a trailer.

Love your new Avi! John Walsh said he had talked to the sheriff and they had agreed it could be a serial predator. But I don't think we have heard the sheriff say it. IIRC

Man arrested for sexual battery in Palatka

PALATKA, Fla. -- A 59-year-old Orange Park man has been arrested on armed sexual battery charges in Palatka.

Putnam County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a sexual battery at the Telstar Motel, located in East Palatka.

The victim reported that she met with a male friend, who was identified as Maroun Ata, at the motel.

According to detectives, when she refused to have sex with Ata, he pulled a gun on her and forcefully removed her clothing. He then forced the victim to have sex with him.

Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded and took over the investigation. Maroun Ata was taken into custody and interviewed by investigators. Subsequent to the interview, Ata was placed under arrest for armed sexual battery.

He is currently being detained in the Putnam County Jail without the benefit of a bond.

Thanks Brandi, I bet they use sub contractors if they only list 4 employee's. They also most likely work with architects or professional designers for blueprints. No telling how many people were at that house that day. I just can't get past that house...seems like everything points back to it. She was last spotted in the front, "Kyle" said she was there, soot could be found there and was supposedly found on her. I can honestly say, if that house is not connected somehow, I will fall off my chair.
