That church is an interesting peace of information.

Do we know what the SO in that area's hystory is? I mean there is a difference of someone who is convicted of a sex offense when they were 18 and the girl was 17. Things like that. Do we know what type of offense he commited?

I am shocked he is allowed to live so close to a school and church. A teen who was caught sexting (sending a naked pic to others of his ex girlfriend) was made to register as a sex offender and can no longer live with his father because it is too close to a school.

They need to have a tier system in place and deliniate the ones who arent a real threat as opposed to the others who are. IMO

Happy Halloween, Monkeys--

I just got back from visiting friends who live near the Thompsons, a few blocks away. We drove past 1080 Gano at approx 5 pm. There were 2 cop cars on each side of Gano--one in the driveway of 1080, the other facing it. We assume that they were there to prevent vandalism. How creepy and sad to think people might want to visit the "scary house" on Halloween.

Great pics from twocents! Good job. At first I couldn't see any. Then I signed on and could view all of them.

The 1080 Gano house is shadowy and creepy. (The poor owners! What are they going to do with it now?) I want to add, though, that the neighborhood itself is not scary, not even after all of this. Parts of it are old and run down, yes. But I don't get an eerie feeling.

I keep going back to the thought that why would a predator do this in broad daylight at that busy time of day? Probably THE busiest time of day! There are plenty of other "opportunities"...I see little kids walking around, riding their bikes, etc in many of the Clay and Duval neighborhoods. I'm always looking for the parent and disheartened when I don't see one nearby. (I've always been a worry wart personality type.)

I am glad to report that trick or treating went on in the Clay neighborhoods, even where we were, a few blocks from the Thompsons. It wasn't as busy as you'd expect for a Saturday Halloween. But it's also Florida/Georgia weekend. (college football)

I want to add that another friend of mine who lives just a couple streets away from the Thompsons told me the cops came over that Monday night that Somer went missing and asked my friend and her family several prepared questions. Then they asked if they could search their house. She said they searched all the houses that way. I was pleased to hear that. However, they did not question or search my other friend's area who lives just a few blocks away. (I hope I am explaining this well. I can't give street names out of respect for my friends).

Living here, many rumors fly. Some of them may be legit but some may not be. What I have heard has come from very close friends who have talked to several LE and firefighter neighbors and other friends/neighbors who know the Thompsons. I don't want to spread anything here that may not be true. But I will share one rumor made me feel a little better--it sounds like they MAY be making an announcement soon.

I, for one, am ready for that announcement!

I have been feeling that LE is pretty sure who did this and is watching him/them 24/7 awaiting test results on evidence.

It sure would be great to get this monster(s) off the streets. For good.

One last note: Kids don't often know street names and they can be forgetful or easily confused. So Somer's sister may not have reported the time/place correctly where she last saw Somer. And as much as I keep saying that the time of day is weird and the timeline is screwy, I also feel that things can happen in PLAIN SIGHT.  Everyone nowadays is on their cell phone or just lost in their own thoughts. So I could see how a kid could disappear into a house or a car and be "hidden" by all the other activity going on around. I suppose if I saw a child get into a car at some random time of day, with no one else around, I might be suspicious. But after school lets out, you don't really question kids getting into cars or walking into houses or going off with adults or other kids....Everything blends together and nothing stands out as much. (unless there was a struggle or something)

Yes things happen in broad daylight all the time. too many times. About the sister. She may have seen her sister last at that location but another boy saw her last in front of the house. that is what i understand anyway.

Now that I see how close the house is to the school I am wondering if it first drew police attention because it is where the sister lost track of Somer.  Like when Somer ran away she ran into that yard.  Since there were other kids there I just thought maybe one of them reported that.  If the dogs caught her trail all the way to the woods closer to her house it would make sense that they start where the sister first lost sight.  Dunno, now I am confused.
