Anonymous Donor Give $10K To Crime Stoppers Fund

ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- Two weeks after 7-year-old Somer Thompson disappeared while walking home from school, an anonymous donor added $10,000 to the reward for catching her killer.

This brings the total Crime Stoppers reward for an arrest in the case to $15,000. Just over an additional $25,000 is available through the Justice Coalition for the arrest and conviction of whoever killed Somer.

"To be eligible for the Crimestoppers reward, you do have to call the Crime Stoppers number," said Wyllie Hodges, executive director. In addition to calling 866-845-TIPS, tips can be e-mailed to rewards@fccrimestoppers.com, left on the Web site, or by text message by sending "TIP326" plus message to "CRIMES."

All calls, e-mails and texts to Crime Stoppers remain anonymous.

Somer's body was found two days after she disappeared in the landfill in Charlton County, Ga., where Orange Park's garbage is dumped.

Hi everyone. This looked like a good place for a first post. I am so sad about Somer and other children. I just wanted to say hello and that I'm not involved like one poster who asked about "new" people. You are all soooooo smart here and I hope that your sleuthing rubs off on me!

Hi there, I also think this is a good place for a first post! I'm also not involved, not to mention I live in California! I'm a mom of three and also very sad about Somer and all of these missing and murdered children.
I've been reading here since the Sandra Cantu case (I live about 50 miles from Tracy, CA) and I had tried to join SM during the Lindsay Baum case but was never approved, which I believe to be due to the high number of requests to join during that time. I read a post at that time that there were something like 600 that needed to be approved, so I figured I just got lost in the shuffle! This time I had my approval in no time.

You all are great, keep up the good work!

Great causes Klaas! And yes I totally agree about the angels too! The year the Angels finally won the world series was the first year I was up in Northern California. I think I was the only person up here rooting against the SF Giants! I thought our house would be burned down, lol.

I think the name "kyle" is a made up name and he called in to cover tracks and explain away why they will find evidence of her being there that day. I think he called after it was said she was last seen in front of the house. They need to check out the sub contractors and their employees, I am sure they have. I would also like to know if the same company is working on more then one houses in the area or maybe the subs are.

I am not sure about this being a true crime of opportunity or if has been in the works, meaning they/he/she whoever, was earning her trust. I would love to know what they friend meant by "I will ask where she goes".

I cant' believe they haven't arrested anyone yet. Seems like this should be a slam dunk case.

I guess I have an issue with persons being judgemental about a lady who just buried her daughter based on feelings or what I would have done / not done.  But it's worse on other boards.
   

I think it's normal to kick around ideas about all aspects of a tragedy--who could have done this, how would I react, etc. I just wanted to share this with everyone. It may help a little.

ok so I called the local news to find out why we have not heard about Kuhn's arrest, and the guy that answered the phone said that they already knew about it and that it has nothing to do with Somer's case. Guess we will just have to wait and see
