http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2009/12/07/eric-metaxas-white-house-creche-jesus-christmas/

I was reading the New York Times Sunday Styles section yesterday (yep, I'm straight) when I came across an article about embattled White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers -- she's the one who broke with previous White House tradition by inviting herself to the state dinner when she should have been at the door keeping out the loopy riff-raff.

But in the twelfth paragraph of the article there was a real bombshell: It said that earlier this year at a luncheon with other previous White House social secretaries, Ms. Rogers claimed that this year the White House would have a "non-religious" Christmas celebration. (For those of you confused by that, it's just like a "non-religious" Yom Kippur celebration, or a "non-Irish" St. Patrick's Day celebration, or an "international" July 4th celebration.)

The Times article continued:

"The lunch conversation inevitably turned to whether the White House would display its crèche, customarily placed in a prominent spot in the East Room. Ms. Rogers, this participant said, replied that the Obamas did not intend to put the manger scene on display — a remark that drew an audible gasp from the tight-knit social secretary sisterhood. (A White House official confirmed that there had been internal discussions about making Christmas more inclusive and whether to display the crèche.)"

I saw that yesterday.I tried to block it from my mind.

I am behind, why are we talking about Dugga the computer man? TIA JSM

Because he is the Duggar husband from Arkansas with the 18 children and the 19th one on they way.  Which we didn't know he was a monkey.
Dugga is in NO WAY related to Jim Bob Duggar and Klaasend is in NO WAY related to Marc Klaas.  Just as Tiger Woods is not related to Natalee Woods or James Woods.
Oh wow, I didn't know they were one in the same. I thought the Arkansas guy was like a state legislator or something. Dumb JSM. Don't they have a TV show? I don't have cable so I don't watch it, what I have seen of the kids, they all play a musical instrument, which I find very impressive.

Yeah it is there because I saw it in a picutre and thought to myself, "very impressed they put a creche up in that room" I think the end of the article I posted said they caved in because of the gasps heard in the room.

Well, CC should be back today, but I bet he'll have a "snow day" tomorrow. We're supposed to get plastered over the next 2 days, and Chi-town usually sends their bad weather up the big lake to us. And of course, I didn't get the snow tires put on yesterday....spent the day in bed. So now I can spend today scrambling. Duh. I'm not used to having to put snow tires on, I usually just have all season ones on. But, the new van didn't come with such hot tires....

But at least I don't feel like I'm dying today!!!!

Only got about an inch of snow so far.  Predicting maybe 5 inches in total by tomorrow night.

Hey Tevye - I heard a commercial yesterday about a Sponge Bob Chia pet.  Seems so appropriate.

Is it true that Fanny's keeping a low profile due to the Tiger fiasco?

IMO the Duggars are a disgrace.  No one should have that many children, even though you can get a TV show and lots of money the more you have.  Mrs. Duggar appears none too smart to me and the husband seems like a male chauvinist.  How dare they say that their daughters will not go to college?  Are these people troglodytes? Neanderthals?   Sorry, they thoroughly disgust me.  Human beings are mammals, but our brains are developed somewhat more than other animals.  We can control our destiny and IMO, our destiny is not to have 18 children.  Don't want to offend anyone, but that's my opinion of these two idiots.

It seems to me that non-intelligent people have children in excess and will soon surpass in numbers responsible people who limit the number of offspring to those they can properly nurture and educate.  Quantity does not equal quality.

WOW...just WOW~!    I read this earlier and went away and came back cause I thought surely I was not reading it correctly.

You may not have meant to offend anyone...but I am certainly offended....I think your entire post is offensive.
