HiJSM.  Looks like you spent the day enjoying your favorite sport and your favorite sportsmen!!!

I've stewed all day about Obama and Holder's plans to try terrorists in NYC.  Everyone knows it is a ploy to try the Bush administration's handling of terrorists.
Have these jokers even thought of the effect this will have on anyone who is unfortunate enough to be on the jury?  They will have to have protection for the rest of their lives, not to mention that this will make NYC even more of a target than it already is.  And of course, in a civilian court any evidence obtained under duress is not admissable.  So that will throw most of the evidence against him out and he will be found not guilty and spend the rest of his life living it up on the millions he will get when he sues the US Government.

IMO with the Obama administration, the country can go to hell  as long as they get to play their little political games with our lives.  This idiot does not deserve to be the President of this country.  He cares nothing about it or us.  He only wants to be a socialist dictator and he is well on the way.  No one who might be able to stop him ever even tries.  Rubber stamp Congress.  Rubber stamp Senate.

I truly believe that we will never again have a presidential election.  He will declare himself "President for Life" like his pals Chavez and Castro. 

I read yesterday that Nancy Pelosi is 69.  She had better be careful or one of her "Death panels" will come to speak to her about being a burden to her family. I don't know about her family, but she's a burden to me.  No wait, she has that special Congressional insurance where she can be pampered for life.  We're all going to jail.  OK.  Got it.

Hi Babybear. I have spent my weekend watching skating, and peeking into some of my favorite websites. I am totally sick about KSM et al being tried in NYC. I am sick of the way the POTUS is bowing down to every leader in the world. We are the USA, we do NOT bow DOWN to anyone. I wasn't going to post a link to a very good blog about the bowing down, but I will do it now. I am mad. Maj. Nidal M. Hasan, the Army psychiatrist believed to have killed 13 people at Fort Hood, was supposed to discuss a medical topic during a presentation to senior Army doctors in June 2007. Instead, he lectured on Islam, suicide bombers and threats the military could encounter from Muslims conflicted about fighting wars in Muslim countries.

How do we know that the attack at Fort Hood was an act of Islamist terrorism? Simple, Major Nidal Hassan told us so. You've seen reports of a long list of things he did and said along these lines. But what's most amazing of all is this:
Hassan is the first terrorist in history to give an academic lecture explaining why he was about to attack. Yet that still isn't enough for too many people--including the president of the United States--to understand that the murderous assault at Fort Hood was a Jihad attack.

It was reported that the audience was shocked and frightened by his lecture. He was supposed to speak on some medical topic yet instead talked on the topic: "The Koranic World View as it Relates to Muslims in the U.S. Military." All you have to do is look at the 50 Power Point slides and they tell you everything you need to know.

It is quite a good talk. He's logical and presents his evidence. This is clearly not the work of a mad man or a fool, though there's still a note of ambiguity in it. He's still working out what to do in his own mind and is trying to figure out if he has a way out other than in effect deserting the U.S. army and becoming a Jihad warrior. Ultimately, he concluded that he could not be a proper Muslim without killing American soldiers. Obviously, other Muslims could reach different conclusions but Hassan strongly grounds himself in Islamic texts.

In a sense, Hassan's lecture was a cry for help: Can anyone show me another way out? Can anyone refute my interpretation of Islam? One Muslim in the audience reportedly tried to do so. But unless these issues are openly discussed and debated--rather than swept under the rug--more people will die.

In fact, I'd recommend that teachers use this lecture in teaching classes on both Islam and Islamist politics. .

Follow along with me and you'll understand everything.

Hassan deals with three topics: What Islam teaches Muslims, how Muslims view the wars in Afghanistan and Iran, how this might affect Muslims in the U.S. military. [Slide 2] Hassan defines Jihad, showing how silly are the claims that it only means a personal struggle to behave better. It also signifies holy war, of course. [Slide 5].

Now here's Hassan's central theme. Muslims cannot fight in an infidel army against other Muslims. And Hassan himself says that it's getting hard for Muslims in the U.S. military to justify doing so. [Slide 11] Obviously, Hassan was deciding that he couldn't do so.

He then quotes the Koran extensively to prove the point. Allah will punish anyone who kills a Muslim [Slide 12]. Hassan then gives four examples of Muslim soldiers who broke under the strain. One who killed fellow American soldiers (which Hassan would himself do), one accused of espionage (but was acquitted), one who deserted, and one who refused deployment to Iraq. [Slide 13]

Quoting the Koran, Hassan next provides a number of quotations to show that the believer must obey Allah. If they do, they will enjoy great delights (though he left out the 72 virgins, there's one quote hinting at pederasty), and if they don't they will suffer torments of Hell.

Finally, he gets into the heavy stuff. Hassan introduces the concept of "defensive Jihad" which is a core element in radical Islamist thinking and has especially been promoted by Usama bin Ladin and al-Qaida. [Slides 37-39]. If others attack and oppress Muslims, then it is the duty of all Muslims to fight them. September 11 was justified by its perpetrators by saying that the United States had attacked Muslims and therefore it was mandatory to kill Americans in return.

And here is the crux of the matter: Verse 60:08, "Allah forbids you...from dealing kindly and justly" with those who fight Muslims." [Slide 40]

If Nidal Hassan believed this and would follow it, he must--to be a proper Muslim in his eyes--pick up a gun and join the Jihad, Muslim side. He was not shooting Americans because he caught battle fatigue from American soldiers he treated. Think about it. To have done so, Hassan would have had to sympathize with them, thinking about what it would be like for him if he'd been fighting...Muslims in Iraq or Afghanistan. But that was precisely his problem. He sympathized with the other side....

  Hi Monkeys - sorry I missed you JSM - I hope you have a good night and that you sleep well - I myself am bushed and about ready to hit the hay but wanted to peek in and say hi.  It has been a busy weekend - the only bad thing about weekends is they fly by.  I am going to try and catch up and then to bed. Fanny - Sorry to hear your son is not well. Scarey posted 8oz of fluids every hour and now that we have been confirmed as having H1N1 the emerg Dr.  told us the exact same thing.  He recommended to us Powerade or similar to help with the electrolites.

So all, my house is full of H1N1.  Son with collapsed lung is doing better.  His xray showed his lung is getting better though not at 100%.  He is off the Tylenol 3's for pain which is a good sign.  Oldest is home from hosp as of today as well.  He still has a heart arrhythmia and is awaiting a specialist appointment.  Hubby is home as well and is holding his own right now.  Youngest had his first fever free day yesterday but still has a heck of a cough.  Daughter is hiding out in her room ad I am running around with a thermometer for person to person checking fevers every hour or so when the room is not spinning.  First Friday in forever that we did not have pizza as I was just not up to making it. I ordered Swiss Chalet and greeting the delivery guy with my newest fashion accessory, the lovely blue masks to be worn if we go out from the hosp.  No one is up to going anywhere unless it is to see a Dr. or back to the hospital so I think I will use them to decorate my Christmas tree or when  I pay for delivery food .

Will you guys say a prayer for my Mom as she will be having eye surgery on Wednesday the 18th.  She has a growth on her eye that has invaded the cornea in just a short time. There is a name for it but for the life of me I can't spell it. Any procedure for her is scary because she has mini stokes.

Does anyone know how to keep ladybugs out of the house? I have ladybugs everywhere and don't want to kill them. I catch what I can and throw them outside but they are everywhere.

Oh Darla I know exactly what you are going thru with these little buggers.  We have a terrible time with them, up here they are actually called Asian Beetle Bugs rather than lady bugs - they come in droves in the spring and the fall. They have no known predator and are a pain in the butt.  They are looking to get in for the winter and then come spring they try to get out of your house.  You are a kinder soul than me - I suck them up in the vacuum and empty the canister immediately or they end up back in the house.  We have had hundreds if not thousands swarming outside our house in the fall trying to get in - it happens especially after the farmers harvest their crops. There is really nothing that we know of that works and trust me we have called exterminators and the U of M for help and there is nothing that affects them.  I feel your frustration.

Today was great.My best friend next door,her daughter,and myself got together while the men were gone.We did a trade and swap.Traded music,Christmas ornaments,Perfume,and I did some computer work.
I wound up with a new tree with lights,decorations,a rotating tree stand ....and 1 pint of Vodka.   
You remember the daughter is the one who recently lost her son,so this was good fun time for her.

Evening Monkeys. I have been watching skating all day today.  Sorry I have been out of pocket. Mens Long program is about to start in 20 minutes.     

Dangit , JSM, I looked allthru my cable listings and didn't find any skating! And we have over 600 channels. Then, my internet, phone and cable were out for 3 hours, so ya know what I spend about 12 hours doing yesterday? Reading Stephen King's new book, "Under the Dome". It is fabulous! It has all the character development and mystery of the stand, cept there's no Walkin' Dude to be scared of! It, M&M's., and chocolate long johns kept the queasies away. Today will be the tired day, good thing the menfolk are all out hunting. Hope the dog can take care of himself!

If you knowof any skating that's on the big channels, let me know. Since I spent so much time reading yesterday, (even moved a rocking chair into my little room), I lost the remote for my TV, and didn't miss it until this morning!
