JSM even when a dog is trained well, I wouldn't take a chance of the dog running after something that caught the dog's eye, that is why when I'm out walking I get so upset when people don't have their dog on a leash.

Good morning, hope everyone had a nice weekend. Trimm, Come Monday, is my all time favorite Jimmy Buffett song, I'm going to listen to it after my daughter goes to work  Tevye hope you are doing good  There was always a big manager scene in the downtown little park, and my parents would take me to see it, I would cry that the baby Jesus was cold, and would always ask my mom to take me home to get a blanket to cover him

Good Morning Monkeys!  I hope everyone had a good weekend I have to catch up.  I put the tree up and decorated the house - lots of work, my arms, legs and azz are sore but it is all so worth it - I sit and stare at all the pretty lights and decor.  I have my family coming for Thanksgiving and even managed to get the house all cleaned and ready so needless to say I was happy to come to work today so I can rest. 

Morning Mission. I am glad you are all ready for the holidays. I for one am not looking forward to them. But I will put out lights, that will put some cheer into me.

Year after year I was worried how cold Jesus was. It was such a lovely nativity scene. They have one still, just a different one. I hate seeing things like that change, but I'm sure over the years it was damaged by the cold.

Happy Monday, Monks!

I sure enjoyed reading of all your Griswold-esque adventures this weekend! As for me and my house, the decorating process goes on until Christmas. The tree is up, upstairs (fake). The real tree will go downstairs and wait until after Thanksgiving. The antique Santa mug collection (Howard Holt, Blinking Santa) is up. Most of the old Gurley candles are up. In short, my living room looks like Christmas threw up in there! 

We have to wait to put the manger up, as that requires a grandchild to help. The grandson has to take Baby Jesus out for a spin in a dump truck, Hummer, or whatever wheeled vehicle the GS prefers. It's a tradition. All the while, we're talking about Jesus and God and that stuff. It's one of my favorite parts of Christmas.

  I love that song, when I saw him he did the best version of Brown Eyed Girl that I have ever heard. Van Morrison is great, but Jimmy's version in concert of that song is stunning.

I'm still decorating the one little tree, and then I will decorate three really tiny trees, which shouldn't take long. It's fun looking at the decorations, I will open a box, and be like, wow, I forgot I had that. That's what happens when you have way more decorations then one should

I think that is such a nice thing to do because ornaments are darn expensive and by giving them some of yours it carries sentimental value.  My daughter used to think it was silly to buy her an ornament each year when she was growing up until she left home and had to decorate her own tree, she was thrilled when I packaged up all her ornaments and gave them to her.

OMG I have done that too - wondered where something was and have it drive me crazy until I find it! And it always hits you in the middle of the night - sometimes I have gotten up to look right away or I can't rest

Yes,I only have 1 nephew and no nieces,so he gets all the good stuff along with my grandkids.
I have ornaments I am putting away for my 2 grandkids that I had for a long time that were their Dad's.They will be glad to have them one day.

I have some antique ornaments that I put on the tree once, and needless to say a couple broke, because of kids and animals. I think it is safe now to bring them out, instead of hiding them, and we should just enjoy them.
