What about innovative alternatives that won't bankrupt anyone?

To The Editor: What's being missed in the climate change controversy is that there are paths other than Cap and Trade for reducing carbon dioxide levels. According to soil scientists and Dr. Timothy La Salle, Rodale Institute: "Organic farming practices could sequester 39 percent of the world's annual carbon dioxide load if applied to all cropland in the world."

But who would profit from that? Mr. Obama's current cap and trade proposals will sequester only small amounts of carbon dioxide while distributing America's dwindling wealth into the pockets of special interests, big corporate campaign donors, and the like.

Organic farming would deliver healthy food, healthy people and a healthy planet. But who would profit from that? Obama's disdain for capitalistic profit is another lie. This administration will make sure Monsanto, GE and other corporate friends make their buck, while leaving America and the planet to be damned.
