Does anyone ever read back??   Not so sure anymore that it's worth doing research or giving info and opinions, if folks don't bother reading back.

Wow, sorry wykes! didnt mean to offend, i have read every page on this thred, and all of us trying to keep up on all the threads of all these missing ppl it is hard to always remeber what was posted in which thread! especially if your jumping between 6 threads or so.

So i think it is always good to post new info and do research and if someone asks again i dont think it hurts to reply or bump something forward.

Has anyone heard the fathers name?

I'll claim ignorance. I don't know his name, and all I know it is said he "flew in" which made me wonder if he was military. If so, God how I hope he was not in Ft Hood.

That would be adding insult to injury. How horrible would that be. I kinda feel bad for dad -= I am not sure why he was not with mom but losing your little girl is just so awful.

Fayetteville police: Girl's kidnapping not "a random incident"
By Nancy McCleary
Staff writer

Police say the apparent kidnapping of a 5-year-old girl this week wasn't "a random incident."

Investigators charged Clarence Darriel Coe, 30, with first-degree kidnapping late Wednesday. The girl, Shaniya Davis, remains missing.

Coe is the boyfriend of Antoinette Davis, Shaniya's mother, according to Barbara Davenport, who manages the Sleepy Hollow Mobile Home Park where the Davis family lives.

Police wouldn't comment on any relationship between Coe and the Davises.

"It's safe to say it's not a random incident," police spokeswoman Theresa Chance said.

Chance said this morning that a witness in the trailer park off Murchison Road told police they saw Coe drive out of the park with Shaniya in his vehicle. The spokeswoman wouldn't say when Coe was seen with the girl.

Older boy in DSS custody per HLN.  At least that is some good news. I have no idea about the infant though.

unless the infant has a suitable relative caregiver i would think that child would be in DSS custody as well...at this point, if they dont have both kids in care they are idiots. at the very least, until this whole mess begins to be sorted out the children need to be in a safe, stable home. away from the people who let them live in filth. this is making me sick

Yes, I agree, and I wonder where the infant is, to live in such disgust, no child should have to live in that.

NC man says he's not guilty in girl's kidnapping
By ALYSIA PATTERSON
Associated Press Writer
Related:

Cumberland County Judge Tal Baggett asked Clarence Coe, 30, during an afternoon hearing if he understood why he was in court.

"No, but I'm not guilty, sir," Coe said. He did not enter a formal plea and Baggett said the court would appoint an attorney.

Baggett also said Coe was also accused of "terrorizing" the child's mother, although he did not elaborate. Coe has been formally charged only with kidnapping.

Fayetteville Police spokeswoman Theresa Chance said a witness spotted Coe taking Shaniya Davis out of the trailer park where she was reported missing around 7 a.m. Tuesday.

"I think it's safe to say this is not a random occurrence," Chance said.

Barbara Davenport, property manager at Sleepy Hollow Mobile Home Park, said Coe is dating Shaniya's mother, Antoinette Davis, and has visited the trailer park several times.

Investigators said police dogs did not pick up the child's scent during a search of the neighborhood.

"Our hopes are that she's close by," Chance said.

Coe was being held at the Cumberland County jail. He has several criminal charges on his state record, including an April conviction for misdemeanor breaking and entering, and he was released from prison in mid-August, according to Department of Correction records.

Coe was previously convicted of assault on a female, felony breaking and entering, larceny, robbery and other charges dating back to 2001.

Investigators found a blanket that may have belonged to Shaniya in a garbage can outside a neighbor's home. Lt. Alex Thompson said investigators also found other items Shaniya may have been wearing.

Davis and Shaniya's father, who flew in from out of state, have been speaking with investigators.
