Fayetteville, N.C. — The search for missing 5-year-old Shaniya Nicole Davis continued Sunday after her mother was arrested on charges involving human trafficking and prostitution.

Fayetteville Police spokeswoman Theresa Chance said that investigators were following up on leads, and officers were conducting a ground search between Fayetteville and Sanford for Shaniya, who hasn't been seen since Tuesday.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office said it was conducting a search at N.C. Highway 87 and Walker Road.

What is the hotel?  I posted earlier from a newsreporter that stated it was the Comfort Inn Suites in Sanford do we have any other confirmation of that hotel?

Lee County sheriff’s deputies and other lawmen are at one location off N.C. 87 near the Harnett County line. A Highway Patrol helicopter was hovering over the area near Carolina Trace around noon today. An official at the scene said the site was one of several where a ground search is under way. The area along Walker Road is heavily wooded and swampy.

A Fayetteville police spokeswoman said investigators are searching in several places between Fayetteville and Sanford. Theresa Chance said police are getting a lot of tips, and police are following up on them.

You mean the spotted thing?  Yes it could be a stuffed animal in one angle/clip it could have a tail?  And I see a tshirt on her as well, a large adult like tshirt possibly his.

When I don't know where to turn for understanding, I look here. I don't mean to preach, and I'm certainly not posting this to offend anyone. I just thought I'd offer to you guys what gives me a little comfort:

Matthew 18:10:

See that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

I believe that Shaniya does have a guardian angel and that God knows well all that is happening to her. I believe she is not alone with just evil. Horrible things happen because we all, even her mother, has free will to make choices and just as apple trees cannot produce acorns, evil can only produce evil. Regardless of what happens to her, Shaniya is not totally at the mercy of their choices. My prayer is that she somehow perceives the love that is with her, and that it will sustain and comfort her. I believe that if she does not survive the ordeal that she is in, she will instantly be in the arms of a Loving God.

According to arrest documents cited by the newspaper, Davis "knowingly provide(d) Shaniya Davis with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude" and she "permit(ted) an act of prostitution."



I'm now wondering if the mother had already allowed Shaniya to be prostituted and had gotten her back that night and later found out about injuries and than set into motion a way to dispose of her.  Due to the type of injuries Shaniya could have been cleaned up given some pain drugs and sent home by the perp and got really ill later?  Idk.  This mother makes me beyond anger right now.  She had this precious little girl for 3 wks this leads me to believe she worked on the father to get her back with this purpose in mind for Shaniya all along.  She is a sic POS.  I hate her.

I hate her too.  The woman has to be insane. She must have hated and been so jealous of the child for her to destroy her.

Police search for missing girl near Sanford

SANFORD, NC (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police confirmed Sunday that they were searching on the ground for a missing 5-year-old girl between Fayetteville and Sanford. Witnesses told ABC11 Eyewitness News they saw officers near Walker Road off Highway 87 in the Sanford area.

Sanford is about 40 miles north of Fayetteville. Police did not say if they were looking for a body or if they hoped to find Shaniya Davis alive.

News of the search came a day after Shaniya's mother Antoinette Davis, 25, was charged in her disappearance Tuesday.

SANFORD, NC (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police confirmed Sunday that they were searching on the ground for a missing 5-year-old girl between Fayetteville and Sanford. Chopper 11 confirms a Fayetville forensics truck is on the scene and officers are searching near Walker Road off Highway 87 in the Sanford area.Witnesses told ABC11 Eyewitness News they saw officers searching a ravine in that area around 10 a.m.
