Maybe not enough time for earplugs that size;

http://www.essortment.com/lifestyle/bodypiercingea_tthi.htm

For those questioning how one would go about putting a plug into their ear, it is a long and slightly painful process. You have to start with a gauge of earring that is a bit larger than a normal sized earring. For example, a typical ear is pierced with a gun and twenty gauge stud. In order to safely stretch out your earlobe, it will be necessary to gradually increase the size of the stud. The next stud that you will need is an eighteen gauge, as the gauge numbers get smaller as the size gets bigger, just like in a wire.

It is important to leave each size stud in until your ear is fully healed, before moving on to the next size. In general this takes about 4 weeks, but every body varies. After the ear is fully healed, wait an additional 2 weeks before stretching. Count on waiting between 6 and 8 weeks between going up in sizes.

Wasn't there a baby in the house? Didn't they first report a 7 year old and an infant?

Oh gosh call me a country bumpkin, I thought you were talking about earplugs you stick in your ears to block out noise. What in the world is that contraption?

One of the more recent trends with the young punk/heavy metal group.  They are earrings/plugs you increase in size until the lobe is really stretched out far.  Not what I would ever do to myself and definitely would NEVER do to my daughter.

That was what was reported first, I think.
They said that the 7 year old had been taken by children's services.
No more mention of the infant.

They also reported in the beginning that Coe had AIDS.  Wonder if the woman has it too, since she is
reportedly pregnant.

Father of missing girl laments giving daughter to mom charged with human trafficking
November 15, 2009 02:24 EST

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- The father of a missing 5-year-old North Carolina girl says he never should have allowed her to go back to her mother, who is now being charged with human trafficking and other offenses.

It's not clear if the charges are related to Shaniya Davis' disappearance, and authorities say they still don't know where the girl is. The girl's mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis, reported her missing Tuesday from a mobile home community in Fayetteville.

Police say she's facing charges for alleged child abuse and filing a false police report.

A man believed to be on a hotel surveillance video carrying the child has been charged with kidnapping.

Shaniya's father, Bradley Lockhart, tells The Associated Press that after raising the girl for several years, he decided to allow her to stay with her mother last month. He says she had recently gotten a job and her own place, and he decided to give her a chance.

Now, he says he "should've never let her go."

Well, duh!!!

I thought that too to be honest with you, but I am sure if he knew then what he knows now, he would have made a different decision.

You would think it would make the news, but have there been any stories about a missing baby found? Just something that occured to me.

Lawmen search woods near Sanford for 5-year-old Shaniya Davis

A staff report

SANFORD — Investigators looking for 5-year-old Shaniya Davis have roped off a wooded road south of Sanford, where an intense search is underway.

Dozens of Fayetteville police officers, Lee County sheriff’s deputies, and other lawmen are scouring woods along Walker Road, which is across from Carolina Trace.

A Highway Patrol helicopter was at the scene earlier today. The area is heavily wooded and swampy.

Residents of the few houses along Walker Road said they helped lawmen in a search this morning.

I'm stunned that a five year old could get this done anywhere. And they also stink to high Heaven if not properly taken care of

The present search is across from Carolin Trace, a country club, I wonder if he was a golf caddy at that club in the past.
The link below has nothing to do with the child, I looked it up to piece together the location. I need a full written picture of events.

Usually as we all sit and await word, I am hoping and praying beyond anything the child is alive. Somehow, as sad and horrible as it sounds, I am not sure what I want. Given the choices of a life of child prostitution/sex slavery and death, there are no good choices. I will just pray they somehow find her and she is alive  and being cared for by a pack of dogs. Is anyone else struggling with this?

Thanks guys for the info on earplugs, I live in a small town and very seldom go to malls or whatever. I had never seen or heard of them. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

Yes I am Tracy. I stated earlier today that I could deal with her being dead better than I could with her being a sex slave. I have been praying all day that God just be with her wherever she is.

Oh I feel so sorry for her father that raised her.  I don't see how any parent can see that coming from the other parent.

This supposed "muther"  and her friends..selling her own little girl into sexual slavery, predators..I hope they burn in Hell!  I just hope they have not murdered her.  I am stil hoping they only hid her....why would they need to murder her ..she is so little.

Oh lord my heart is just breaking.  When you look at the innocence on her face..how could any one harm her.

That's for sure, I know a couple people with them, one actually works at the grocery store I go to.  I just don't understand how a child would have these

I think they are wide hoops...maybe Shaniya was given the earrings and told she was playing dress up to get her to go along...little girls do like to wear grown up jewelry, If this terrible incident does not change the laws to protect our children I say we as US citizens are to blame...we have got to raise HE** and get something done.  I did not intend to offend anyone...But what can we do to put these people away for LIFE ?

I live in a mid size town and I had thought she meant ear plugs like, when you go swimming.
