I wonder if LE has told him not to talk about it. I just can't believe this dad, who was responsibling raising his daughter would just abandon her to this monster. I think there maybe a whole part of this story that cannot be talked about.

Have heard of times when different LE all across America have gone taser-happy, for one reason or another, and only been suspended, if that.  Why o why can't just ONE of em do the same in this case?  Be sitting at the table, questioning suspect, playing with a taser, and 'ooooooopsy!  Sorry, my bad, did I do that?'

I really hope you are right about that because I really really want to believe that dad was a good guy. No one would ever think in a million yrs something this horrendous could happen but.......... ya just don't leave your child with a mom she barely knew, mom has some bad history and has lifestyle that looks lightyears away from the way Shaniya had been living (if we can generalize by appearances) without checking on her, an afternoon visit, phonecalls,,,something

Was sitting here thinking why Sanford?  There are 76 RSOs living there, could be one reason.  And from the list of RSOs that JG gave earlier, one is a McNeill, not sure yet if he is related to Mario or not.  Am wondering if Mario was handing Shaniya off to one of these RSOs living in that town, and they just met up at the hotel.  Would like to think that these have all been thoroughly checked out and property searched by LE:

Do we know when Shaniya's birthday is, the reason im asking is because my sons birthday was after September 1st....and they wouldnt let him go to Kindergarden because of that, he was almost 6 before they would let him start....I was just wondering if that may be the reason she wasant in school.....

I'm pretty sure her birthdate is February 14, 2004.

I think Shaniya looks a little like Raven Simone from the Cosby Show. Not that it matters, but I do think so.

As you may know, the North Carolina Legislature has amended the age requirement for admission into kindergarten.  In order to enter kindergarten in the state of North Carolina, a child must have reached his/her fifth birthday by August 31 of the school year in which he/she is presented for enrollment.  This change will take effect beginning with the 2009-2010 school year.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m Monday in Greenfield First Baptist Church in Greenfield, Ohio, by Rev. J. Troy Gray. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Murray Funeral Home of Greenfield.

Mrs. Lockhart is survived by her husband, Brad Lockhart; two sons, Byron Lockhart and Chivas Lockhart; two daughters, Chyenne Lockhart and Michelle Coleman; two brothers, Christopher Coleman of Wilmington and Bryon Coleman of San Diego; two stepsisters, Phyliss Berry and Alicia Berry, both of Dayton, Ohio; a stepbrother, Anthony Berry of Dayton; and her grandmother, Patsy Mack of Cleveland.

Hi Jackie! You know what? I can't even look at her objectively. I just keep seeing what she's done. However, I will say that the first time I saw this pic on TV, I was struck with her physical potential. With make-up and something done to her hair, she would be beautiful, IMO. I'll probably never be able to see it again, but I really thought so when I first saw her. It even crossed my mind that she could have been a model......... she didn't have to go down the path she chose, and she sure as heck didn't need to sell her daughter!

When I don't know where to turn for understanding, I look here. I don't mean to preach, and I'm certainly not posting this to offend anyone. I just thought I'd offer to you guys what gives me a little comfort:

Matthew 18:10:

See that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

I believe that Shaniya does have a guardian angel and that God knows well all that is happening to her. I believe she is not alone with just evil. Horrible things happen because we all, even her mother, has free will to make choices and just as apple trees cannot produce acorns, evil can only produce evil. Regardless of what happens to her, Shaniya is not totally at the mercy of their choices. My prayer is that she somehow perceives the love that is with her, and that it will sustain and comfort her. I believe that if she does not survive the ordeal that she is in, she will instantly be in the arms of a Loving God.   

I have been catching up here for an hour now. I have been crying here for an hour too.

 My heart breaks in a million pieces with these cases and for some reason even more so with Shaniya's case. I knew that human trafficking existed but chose not to learn more about it. I do not want to know the details because it makes my heart hurt to much to think about it. I just want to remain naive on the subject. (out of site/out of mind) perhaps...in my happy place. And I want to continue to believe in the human spirit. It's all that keeps me going to believe in the good people....
