When ole Brad said on Oprah "that he tried to keep his heart pure" I thought I would puke.

I would have more respect for him if he was on the jailhouse steps demanding a hanging.
god help me nut you have a 240000 house and you drop a child in a maybe 2000 trailer. I am sorry you wrong imo

The issue is not the difference between a $240,000 home and a $2,000 trailer.  The issue is the  lifestyle of the mother ... the issue is the filthy environment.  Shaniya's needs ... physical ... spiritual and ... emotional could have been met in that small trailer home by a loving mother.

Janet

Janet, you are so right. When I was a child I loved to spend time with my grandparents who lived a very simple, humble lifestyle. They always had time to make me feel safe and special. My grandmother told me more than once "Not everyone can be rich, but everyone in America can be clean." The adults in Shaniya's life failed her on so many levels.

Janet- Well said! Rich people are often emotionally and spiritually poor and financially poor people are often the richest.

O/T Blumonkey- ITA!  Recently, I had the opportunity to eat at a community Hunter's Supper with relatives in my father's "poor" hometown.  I finished eating and while I waited on my relatives, I took a few minutes to listen to the constant hum of folks visiting together and sharing news. I was struck by the sense of community, the easy comradery that comes with knowing your neighbor.  I observed the sea of camouflage, worn by simple people...just as acceptable as more the fashionable outfits worn by a few.  I thought about several other people I know (who would invariably look down on these community members) and felt sorry for them.  These "poor" people were richer by far.  The proud people were the "poor" ones, IMO.

While I feel for Shaniya's father (no one should have to go through this), I'd like to know what he was thinking too.  It's not like AD had been stable and a constant in Shaniya's life for years.  When Brad says it was a one night stand, did he hire a prostitute?  Not saying he did, just asking the question.  I can understand wanting to give the mom a chance, but that should have begun with AD coming to his house for supervised visits for a loooong time, followed by AD taking Shaniya out on supervised jaunts to the park/ice cream parlor/playground.  Then, supervised visits to AD's home for a looong time.  All of this, hopefully coupled with, discreet inquiries to AD's neighborhood police officer regarding drug activity in the immediate neighborhood...at the least.  Not trying to condemn the man, just saying.  MO

I know right? Shaniya goes from Brad's home to live in that junk house and he doesn't think that it might affect her? did no one walk this little girl up to that trailer and look around once the door was opened? The dad said that AD had not lived in very good neighborhoods...so he allowed his daughter to go there? would he have stayed in that trailer but he allowed Shaniya to go there? and Carrie too...I believe that she loved Shaniya probably more than anyone...I am thinking that Brad would have let her keep Shaniya if she wanted to...what did she think when driving away from that nasty hole that she had just dropped this little girl off at? I don't think that I could live with myself if I was any of these people...my guilt and grief would be too overpowering...
oh wait if we listen to cheyeene(sp) he didn't take care of any kids so what does the sisters house look like?  and does she hsve mixed kids too?

What does having mixed kids have to do with anything?
I wondered if she had met someone that was white and maybe that is why they sent Shanyia off & tuff on relationship.  only because I can't make any sense of this and looking for reason that the aunt walked.  not that anyone has to answer to me but my own head just is trying to justify this & no price of house means nothing but higher price usually = lower crime better schools in most cases.

Michelle1111 I just wanted to be certain you saw this message to you from Klaasend, the administrator of this forum.  You would do well to heed her warning. MuffyBee

Drop the race issue.  Also drop the trailer (mobile home) talk as well.  I have many friends that are of mixed race and I'm offended by anyone thinking that in this day and age, it would make a difference.  My inlaws used to live in a very nice double wide mobile home out here in Calif.  Here's a mobile home for sale in Huntington Beach for $95,000.

http://www.trulia.com/property/1080849176-21851-Newland-St-Huntington-Beach-CA-92646

You are new to SM so I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt.  Please stick to the crime and not the race.  TIA

I agree with everything you wrote! It's not about the price of your house or clothes the only thing that truly matters is what's in your heart.

I don't know many people in this day and age who would think like that. I'm not saying it doesn't happen. Bradley Lockhart seems to have multiple mixed race children and his family seems to love them unconditionally. He most likely came from a background where race doesn't matter.

As an aunt if some man walked into my life and said he couldn't accept my niece or nephew because of their race I'd send him walking. No one gets in the way of my family.

O/T
Had a couple of trojans in my comp, did a system restore.  Took all day to get things adjusted and am back up and running, good as new.

On Topic...........
I saw the pic taken by the one who went to the hotel, of the carpet pattern.  As some in here have said, it looks like the same pattern on the carpet, but off a bit somehow.

For those monkeys who are good with pics, could you check out the following, if you haven't already?  Seems that one or more of the three pics we've already been looking at, may have been flipped.  That *could* account for why the pattern on the carpet seems a bit off.  But my main reason in thinking that is because of the elevator seen in the pic taken by that person vs. the three we already had.

The number of the elevator is inside the doorframe (near where the doors open).  In the 3 pics we've been looking at, when it can be seen, that number is on the left.  But in the 4th and newer pic, that number is on the right.  Can you guys flip the pics with that number shown, so they are the same, then compare side by side?  Hope this makes sense!  The carpet pattern might even match up, who knows?  lol

And I agree with those who are thinking that of the three pics that LE released, it seems that at least one is of Shaniya being carried 'out', while at least one is of her being carried 'in'.  She just looks sooooo different in the middle pic.  IMO.  Why LE would say they are all three of her being carried in, if they actually weren't, I dunno.

Someone mentioned there was internet access, was that access within the rooms, or out in the lobby?  If within the rooms, am hoping that LE has checked that room's comp. for a history of live streaming, cam, etc.

Child porn crosses my mind, as does Shaniya's death having possibly been made into a "snuff film".

The reason I'm wondering all that... is because of the "robbery" that was at McNeill and gf's home (was it the same day he was arrested or in the days following?), and an E-machine was taken, or attempted?  I know there was some discussion in here earlier on.

Could there be something accessed on the net in the hotel's comp that has to do with something similiar in that E-machine at McNeil's home?

Just wondering if someone really really REALLY didn't want whatever may have been on that E-machine to be taken as evidence in Shaniya's case, so staged a robbery to make it go missing.

Hi Wyks!

I completely agree with you re: this was all for child porn of some sort- perhaps even something much larger than just him acting alone. MM is just a thug who has been involved in a number of 'enterprising' activities, including theft and drug dealing; playing broker or delivery guy in the world of child trafficking/porn would not be a stretch of the imagination.

I must have missed the robbery at McNeill's thing though . . . certainly would sound an alarm, I should think. Shall try to go back and find that. (I also confess to not knowing what an 'E machine' is - assuming it is a computer/data storage or transfer device of some sort - LOL.) Will go google that now. . . Thanks for the info, Wyks.

I might not have the right to say  this but no way on Gods green earth would have listed the mother that was in fact just as responsible for the death of her child she sold her child for drugs and sold her own soul to the devil...this is very upsetting to me...and not to mention aunt Carey the one person that seems to have really loved Shaniya is not in orbit.

Good Morning Cookie!

Your reply is spot on, IMO . . . and, in addition to the physical filth, these poor children were surrounded by an environment filled with drugs, prostitution, and all the lack of values and conscience that accompanies such an emotionally filthy lifestyle. Money/assets & social standing alone do not make a loving & nurturing environment for raising children. History is filled with stories of people raised to become productive, accomplished adults with little more than love, attention, & devotion.

You are new to SM so I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt.  Please stick to the crime and not the race.  TIA

Bumping this up to be certain it's seen.  MuffyBee

McNeil told he may get death penalty

Mario Andrette McNeill could receive the death penalty if convicted of killing 5-year-old Shaniya Davis.

That was what Judge George Franks told McNeill during a hearing Friday at the Cumberland County Detention Center.

McNeill, 29, of the 2600 block of Pine Springs Drive, was charged Thursday night with first-degree murder and first-degree rape of a child. He faces life in prison without parole on the rape charge.

McNeill attended the short hearing with his lawyer, Allen Rodgers, by his side.

McNeill's mother also attended the hearing. She made no comments to the media.

McNeill was already in jail, charged with first-degree kidnapping of Shaniya, whose body was found Monday off Walker Road in Lee County.

Following Friday's hearing, McNeill was transferred to Central Prison in Raleigh for safekeeping until his next court date on Dec. 9.

Rodgers didn't indicate whether McNeill would plead not guilty to the charges.

"The only thing he's admitting to at this time is that he's the man with the child in the surveillance video," Rogers said last week.

Shaniya was reported missing from her home off Murchison Road on Nov. 10. McNeill is accused of taking the girl and traveling to a Sanford hotel with her.

Shaniya was last seen alive leaving the motel with McNeill about 11/2hours later, police say.

McNeill turned himself in to police Nov. 13 and was charged with kidnapping Shaniya.

Police searched McNeill's car the same day for any evidence that Shaniya might have been in the car.

The following day, Shaniya's mother, Antoinette Davis, 25, of the 1100 block of Sleepy Hollow Road, was charged with human trafficking and child abuse involving prostitution, obstructing an investigation and filling a false police report.

Shaniya's father, Bradley Lockhart, told TV host Oprah Winfrey on Friday that he learned how his daughter died from a Fayetteville police detective before the information was released to the media.

Oprah asked Lockhart if he thought Davis was a good mother.

"I felt in my heart she had the intentions to be.... I never seen any anger or hatred toward Shaniya,'' Lockhart said.

Davis' mother, Ann Summers, was waiting to see when she could visit her daughter, who is in jail.

Summers said that she has faith in her daughter and that McNeill was wrong for doing what he is accused of - kidnapping, raping and killing Shaniya.

"Life had just started for that child," she said.

Davis was not involved in drugs or prostitution, Summer said, and she provided a safe environment for Shaniya.

"She wouldn't hurt her children; my daughter is a good mother," Summers said.

A sheriff's spokeswoman said Davis had been arrested in the past on drug and prostitution charges, but she was not convicted.

Davis, whose lawyer is D.W. Bray, remains in jail with bail set at $51,000.

Shaniya's family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home on Ramsey Street.

Her funeral will be at Manna Church at 3 p.m. Sunday. She will be buried at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.

Thank-you for all the updates. I've read, but don't know if it is true, that Brad is engaged, maybe part of the reason he let Shaniya go there to stay longer is the new fiancee didn't want kids around.

Casey Anthony was a good mother", Ted Bundy was a good son. People are greedy, did A.D. have an Insurance Policy
on her child?  MM and AD hatch a plan at the nursing home to make money off her child?  Why would MM think it was OK
for him to do what he did?

Questions:
Why was Aunt Carey left off obituary?
I see that he has 7 kids? (busy guy)
I don't believe that MM rented that room, nobody has said he was checked in?
I don't know how they can prove he raped her, because after that many days
the DNA would have been to degraded, unless he confessed or bugs where tested
(I didn't want to say maggots)
I'm sorry but I believe that MM has had help from someone in LE or court system
from his first conviction when he got probation on a very serious charge?
I also think thats why he smirks in his pictures, its like he's saying prove it.
I wish the FBI was in charge of this. I don't trust the locals at all.
