Some adjustments were made to the forum and you might notice something looks different or you can't access something.  Likely it's do to the changes that were made.

Hopefully the site won't go down as much!

FYI

I have experienced a notice when attempting to reply or move to the next page that says 'due to high stress on the server the forum is temporarily unavailable, please try again later.' (or similar...posting from memory).   Other times I have gotten the page cannot be displayed error message.

Also, have experienced a drag in opening pages, when successfully in the forum.  Hopefully this will post okay.

CBB it's been horrible  .  Up and down, mostly down  .  I think they may have found a way to solve some of the problems now though as it's been pretty good for an hour or so

I've noticed a change in the past hour, too.

Noticed the Search function is disabled and also through individual profiles you cannot find a posters recent posts.   Hope that isn't permanent.

Some of the functions go away when there is a higher load on the server.  I'll find out for sure.  I knew about the posters recent posts as I tried that today myself, didn't know about the search function.

My questions for the tech guy:

1.  Is the inability to search a persons posts permanent or is it based upon server load?  It's kind of important to be able to search posts.

2.  Is the SEARCH function in general gone for good or is it only during higher load on the server?

Answer:

Those are both disabled only as load climbs. If things are going smoothly during trafficky times we can up the limit on their use. I'll try bumping them up a couple points for starters and see how that goes Smile

Good evening Monkeys.

CBB, how is your son doing?  Hopefully he is getting better every day.  Hope you are taking good care of yourself also.

We had a few days of rather pleasant weather and now the bad weather is coming right back at us:

AS OF NOW... THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL WILL IMPACT SOUTH-CENTRAL KENTUCKY AND THE SOUTHERN BLUEGRASS REGION BETWEEN 10AM FRIDAY MORNING AND 10PM FRIDAY NIGHT. AT THIS POINT... THE LAKE CUMBERLAND AREA AS WELL AS LOCATIONS ACROSS SOUTH-CENTRAL KENTUCKY CLOSEST TO THE TENNESSEE BORDER WILL SEE THE LARGEST SNOW ACCUMULATIONS... NAMELY SOUTH OF A LINE FROM MORGANTOWN TO LIBERTY. THESE AREAS COULD POTENTIALLY SEE SNOWFALL TOTALS IN THE 5 TO 9 INCH RANGE. LOCATIONS ACROSS CENTRAL KENTUCKY AND THE CENTRAL BLUEGRASS REGION COULD SEE SNOWFALL AMOUNTS NAMELY IN THE 2 TO 4 INCH RANGE... WITH QUICKLY TAPERING AMOUNTS ACROSS FAR NORTH-CENTRAL KENTUCKY. AGAIN... MOST OF THE ACCUMULATING SNOWS WILL FALL DURING THE DAYTIME AND EARLY EVENING HOURS FRIDAY.

Wow.  I sure hope they don't know what they are talking about.
We are supposed to get 2-4" here in Derby City. This one is going to be strange if projections are correct, folks will head North in Kentucky to escape the heaviest snowfall. I am ready either way, Blue Moon, and have plenty of extra room.

Hi there Kentucky neighbors....have the same forecast as Blue Moon....looks like the most snow since I moved from the deep South.  Made a run to the grocery, and it
reminded me of the runs we made when a hurricane is in the Gulf.  Bread goes first...
sure hope no one loses electricity....and no big ol' pine trees fall in my backyard...!

I'm glad you made it to the store to get food Mere.  It never hurts to be prepared.  I hope everyone stays safe and warm.

You guys are probably getting the storms we had last week.  5 days of off and on rain and a couple of tornado like winds.
