I THINK, the big yellow thing is a "grabbing" ROV and is maneuvering to grab the pipe now to bring the pipe upright to allow them to lower a cap. (I could be 100% wrong  )

Geez, I missed most of the report but it sounds like the saw got stuck?

Edited to add:  It was reported by Foxnews (Martha) and not directly from BP or the Coast Guard.  Foxnews has been wrong more than it's been right.  Normally they are hours behind what is actually happening.

There is a site WWW.IfItWasMyHome.com that has an interactive map allowing you to move the oilspill to any location. I live in N Alabama and placed it over Birmingham. It really lets you know the magnatude.

Yes, the spill is huge and will only get larger if they don't get it capped.  That's why I've been watching this ROV so intently.

Has the capping procedure begun?  Hubby turned on CNN for updates a few minutes ago but nothing yet about the oil "leak".

Looks like they are still trying to either get the stuck cutting ROV unstuck or move it out of the way and get another in.

Rather than telling me I spend too much time at the computer ... my hubby is looking over my shoulder at all the images you posted.  He and my youngest son's American FIL think and breathe this oil leak 24/7.

I need some space.  I think I will let him have the chair while I do a few chores.
