There has been noticeable slowness in the forum this afternoon.  The tech guy suggested I move some of the MP High Profile if they weren't so high profile any longer as refreshing while in that area might be slowing things down (since that's where most everyone is).  So I've done that and moved some down to the regular MP area.  Let's see if it helps

THE LAST PUBLIC HANGING IN ARKANSAS 1914

So if the story is true that your grandfather was an onlooker, then the hanging was pre-1914

Just a note that I am having slow internet connectivity in general and not just at SM.  I'm having problems accessing normal sites like TMZ or FoxNews and Photobucket.  So if anyone else is don't feel alone

Couple accused of starving baby plead not guilty

SEATTLE - The young Bellevue mother accused of starving her 6-week-old daughter pleaded not guilty before a King County judge.

Last week, King County Prosecutors charged Brittainy and Samuel Labberton with criminal mistreatment in the third degree. Samuel also pleaded not guilty.

According to charging papers, Brittainy is accused of not feeding her daughter enough. Prosecutors allege the mother has said she didn't want her daughter to be fat, and the father believed the baby was underweight because she "spit up all the time." Court papers allege the young mother gave the infant a baby bottle with laxatives.

Last week, Brittainy denied the charge and said she just had a fussy baby who couldn't keep food down. The mother of two girls said she constantly took her young daughter to the doctor because she was worried.

"As a matter of fact my, daughter eats more than I do," Brittainy told KING 5 News. "If I had one drop of food left in my house, I would give it to my kids before I even thought about myself."

The baby was hospitalized at less than 2 months of age after failing to gain sufficient weight. Officials say she gained weight in the hospital and in a foster home.

Brittainy did not say anything outside court. She was briefly booked into jail and released. Her attorney, David Sorenson, had no comment.

Samuel also appeared before a judge. Both parents were ordered not to have contact with their two daughters unless they are supervised visits.

Child Protective Services placed both girls into foster care in the fall of 2008.

If convicted, the couple could spend a maximum of a year behind bars.

One year at maximum?  You have to be kidding me.  Unbelievable!

The deck pic was taken through my bathroom window................... and it's dirty!

Why didn't you have Kubear pull you on a One Bear Open Sleigh?  We need a monkey sled/sleigh.

Why don't you stay at his house until the snow melts a little?  I am concerned about you.  Good thing you still look like a snow bunny and can still pull cars over!

You mean steamy!

You just didn't want us to ask questions about why the bathroom window was all fogged up.  Could it be after a hot steamy shower?  The best defense is an offense, but it didn't work this time in a cage full of monkey sleuths.  Is that pink handcuffs I see in the reflection of the window?

We sure do need a pink handcuffed Monkey for CBB or maybe that would be the emoticon that shut the whole forum down!

OMG< CBB, I ve never seen snow in real life ever....and now that I see these pictures you took, I dont think I would like too either, but its beautiful as long as I dont have to be there...lol....

Oh, and the window looks fine to me, I thought it was just the cold, so see, you told something no one would know anyways....lol......Thanks for posting the pics..

Ahhhh, HH, snow can be fun. I wouldn't want long winters, and we've had more than usual this year, but if you're a kid, or have kids, it's really exciting! These were taken on the way to and at Mom's.

Mmmmmm, time for grandkids....with an awesome DIL, wife for your son, and mom to your grandbabies, of course.  I hope he is feeling much better.

Good Morning Monkeys!

Kubear's tail looks like an icicle!  It looks like he is next to an ice skating rink.

Muffy, thank you for adding the links to the cases in the Gratefulness Candles thread.  I had wanted to make a suggestion for that to be done -- but I have learned if I can't be part of the solution . . . which I can't cause me not so 'puter savy.  Thank you for taking the time to do this -- it is very meaningful and I do appreciate the effort it is taking you.

How are things going, Sister?

Bearly, i know how you feel, wish i could get my hands on these idiots:

Associated Press - January 30, 2010 3:04 PM ET

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Two children are in state custody and their parents are charged with felony child abuse and manufacturing meth.

Jackson County Narcotics agents arrested Christopher Stanley and his wife Valeria Williams after finding a meth lab in their home in Hurley.

Investigators say the children, ages three and seven, were sleeping on the floor next to two dogs to stay warm. There was only one space heater in the house and the children didn't have blankets.

According to WLOX-TV, they also said it looked like the children had been wearing the same clothes for days, and that water in the bathroom came from a hose shoved through a hole in the wall from outside.

The couple's adopted son, 18-year-old Chad Bangs, was also arrested and charged with manufacturing meth and generation of hazardous waste.
