CBB - Wow!  Six weeks is a long time for no running, jumping etc... - KuBear looks great tho!  On the brighter side, I see there's no healing collar, or as my kids call it, "the cone of shame".

Oh man............ from just a quick look-see, I have LOTS of catching up to do!!

I've been slammed guys! My crew really needs to take care of themselves. KuBear wanted to give Big Brother some sympathy pain and she got a little too close. She showed up at the back door last week on three legs with her left rear one just hanging limply. I have an invisable fence so I don't have a clue what she chased to do it, but she ruptured her ACL. Anyway, here she is post-op. She's not supposed to run, jump, climb stairs, etc. for 6 weeks!! The vet said when her stitches come out next week, he'll show me how to begin to manually manipulate the leg for her. Ummm Hummm. I'm just going to drop the leash and tell him he'll have to catch her first!

aaaaawwwwwwwwwwww CBB I had 2 cockers do the same thing........one right after the other.......the culprits for my guys were squirrels......give Ku a scratch for me.

one of my dogs had this happen..first one leg and then the other leg! she was as good as new after she healed...not sure how she did her damage..but her leg looked just like your dog's leg...like  a turkey leg!!!

Searching!
that is wonderful news of your brother...! which thread is it?
my brother went "missing" from our family for about 10 years and then made contact...and has been in touch ever since...we didn't know if he was alive or what but we never gave up hope...he was safe, just didn't want to be around any of us....mostly personal issues with other family members...all talked out now...

cookie-the thread is in Missing Found Safe,  http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=4636.msg1105263#new

Thanks for the quilt compliments everyone!  You are all too kind

Lifesong,

I love your quilt, too!   It's beautiful.

My maternal grandmother supported herself after retirement by crocheting, knitting and quilting.  I have a quilt she made for my parents.  It's pretty worn.   She cut her squares out of pieces of fabric she could get her hands on....needless to say, the colors are quite a blend...can't say they'd match anything in any home, but the work and love behind it is still heartwarming.

My mother tried to get me to learn the techniques when I was a teen.  She'd say, learn to do this so you have something to do when you get older... I've completed a few things in the past, but more often have left things unfinished.  I tended to want to finish them quickly...like in one or two sittings...LOL....that just isn't the way it goes.  I have sweaters my mother knitted for my boys when they were toddlers....she was legally blind and I couldn't hold a candle to her work.

Thanks 2NJ!

My mother tried to get me to knit when I was younger - I made a few scarves (that's all I knew how to do was knit row after row after row!) and quickly grew bored of it!  In my 20's I crocheted baby blankets for my first two nieces, but that's about it for me.

I know exactly what you mean about the patience required for the long project!

I took the puppies outside today for the first time and I realized that I have overprotected them.

They cried and were scared.

They'll love it once they get used to it!

Bless your heart, that sounds like something that would happen to me!

Lifesong,

The dainty little flowers (dancing around the outside border) are stunning.
The dainty flowers look playful and just so pretty, looks like you have fun making those little touches.

Lifesong, you did such a great job on that quilt.  It must have taken a long time.  Your first quilt, I would have never known.

Magnolia, the puppies are adorable, I love the way they are so interested in what each other are doing.  I am sure going to miss this happy family, I cannot imagine what you are feeling.  What are you going to do with all your free time?  I bet you didn't know you could fit raising 10 puppies in your life before it happened.  I am amazed at the great and loving job you did with those puppies, raising each one as an individual and just loving them along.

You took them all out at the same time?  You are one brave woman.  Each day those puppies will get braver and braver until you wish they were a little more cautious.  They are just wee ones now.

It looks like a Big Turkey Butt, doesn't it?     Geezzz.............. I'll be back. I've got to go see if anyone's speaking to me in the avi thread!

Oh, her leg looks just awful.  I am saying prayers for you and your family that God will place a force field around all of you to keep you safe.   Oh, CBB, I am so sorry, poor KuBear.  Give her some extra lovin' from me, please.  CBB, I miss seeing your sweet face, please take care of yourself.

Thanks Seahorse, Bearly & Can!

Seahorse, the appliqued flowers is my favorite part to do!  I think I'd get bored making traditional quilts.

I searched out this next pattern because it has more flowers.  Mine has different colors and will be 3 rows instead of two and with two larger borders, but here's the pattern picture:

I'm thinking that oughta keep me busy for awhile!

Magnolia............. You've done a real bang up job with those adorable pups!! Oh, they'll learn to LOVE the great outdoors!! You'll love it too when they do! Grass requires far less cleaning when they do what they doo-doo!
