Northern Rose that sounds delicious. Anything with chocolate and peanut butter sounds great.

I tasts like peanut butter cups and cheesecake, two of my favourite things and so simple to make.

o my gosh, that recipe looks SO good !

We were pulling at the bowl to get it cleaned out which is a good sign!

I make a sort of Oreo cheesecake bar thingy for school events that is my daughters favourite.  She said yesterday that their school party is on Friday and already committed me to making it.  The kids in her class cheered when she told them what she was bringing for the party so I guess it is really good.

I will post that recipe as well as it is so simple and yummy.
That dessert must really be something for the kids to cheer

Have you tried the recipe I left for divinity?  If you have a stand mixer and a timer you can not mess it up.

No not yet as I have to get daughters mixer out of storage. All I have is a hand mixer. I have tried every recipe and some how have messed them up.  I have brunt up about 4 mixers in the mean time even my stand mixer. I think I have a cuss on me when it comes to divinity. Monkey Devil!

I am sorry to hear that.  I would not try the recipe I posted without a stand mixer as it will not work out.  I wish I could magically transport you to my house and make it for you.

Thank  you that is so sweet of you.  It's one of those things that reminds me of Christmas growing up. My grandmother and aunts made it every year for us. It's become a family joke around here to see if moms going to have a good batch every year. We have eaten it out of the pan with spoons so many time.

That sounds like me and minute rice.  I never used minute rice until I got together with my hubby.  He grew up with it.  First time he went grocery shopping he comes home with minute rice.  I think WTH I will try it and totally messed it up.  In a pinch for time I will make it and for the life of me can not make it without totally messing it up, it comes out like rice soup or so dry and crunchy it hurts your gums eating it.  I follow the box exactly and am cursed.  It is a joke in our house as well when they ask what kind of rice and I say Minute,   to see how I have messed it up this time!

They look like you spent forever making them with the chunks of oreo in the coolwhip and they are a definite hit here.

nrcg  How you doing today? I talked with brother out there and said it's still raining.
It just won't stop raining, we are waiting for a break to take the dog out, and it is just pouring big time. I noticed some of my bark in my yard isn't where it is supposed to be, I guess I should stop looking out the window, and worry about all that later.

Wasn't it in 2005 that there was so much rain that they got double the annual amount in like 2 weeks? It was like when is it going to stop.  I guess we are never happy Hope it lets up soon so you can talk Zoe for her walk.

If you want a crazy simple recipe to make try these home made turtles.

Get a bag if the small salted pretzels (not the straight ones) and either Rolo Caramel chocolates or a bag of dove caramel chocolate.

Line a cookie sheet with baking paper, and heat over to 350.  put pretzels in a single layer on the cookie sheet and put one of the chocolate carmels in the middle of each pretzel.  Bake 3-5 minutes until the chocolates begin to soften but not melt - you have to watch these as they bake.  If they melt totally the caramel comes out everywhere.  Top with a pecan half while still warm and let cool.

Yes, I believe it was, we need the rain bad, it's just taking the dog out, and she gets scared in the house when it pours bad.

Yes this is my kid friendly one bite heaven recipe.  All my kids helped with this one when they were young.

Greeneyes if you are looking for a fast and simple recipe that kids can do, this was and is my youngest son's favourite.

cover a cookie sheet with tin foil.  Place a single layer of square salteen crackers (I use Kraft Premium Plus with salt) on the sheet to cover the whole sheet. You may have to creak some of the crackers in half to cover the sheet.  In a saucepan melt  1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar until it boils.  boil for 3 mins.  Pour over crackers.  Bake this for 7 min in a 400 degree oven.  Once out of oven immediately sprinkle a bag of semi Sweet chocolate chips on top of crackers.  Let stand so chocolate melts (about 4-5mins) and spread chocolate with a knife over the crackers.  Now sprinkle either chopped nuts, cookie sprinkles, anything like that on top.  Let cool and break into pieces.

You can mix this recipe up by using butterscotch chips and toppings, or white chocolate chips.

It stopped some so my husband took her, and then my neighbor's pup ran off because he was afraid of his owner's umbrella, and came running to my garage, but before he came in he decided to pee on my poinsettas  I just had to laugh. I need to go to the store, but can't stand shopping when it is raining, I don't like my bags getting all wet, and using wet shopping carts

OMG, that was one of my favorite things my mom use to make for us. She used graham crackers instead, but it was melt in your mouth great. She didn't put any toppings on top, but that sounds so good.

The original recipe had graham crackers.  We were way up north and I had none and knew it would be a month for the next grocery shipment so tried with the salteen crackers and YUM!  I have never made these with graham crackers since.  I think it is the savory from the salt on the crackers and the sweet from the chocolate that makes these so addictive.  The syrup also gets into the crackers more than graham wafers so they are really nummy.  Topping this is the kids favourite part and they usually make little sections of the cookie sheet with different toppings.
