Oreo Cheesecake Bar Thingy

45 OREO Cookies, divided
1/4 cup  butter melted
3 pkg. (250 g each)  Brick Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup  sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups  thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

line 13x9-inch pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides. Coarsely chop 15 cookies set aside. Finely crush remaining cookies and mix with melted butter. Press onto bottom of prepared pan. Refrigerate while preparing filling.

Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until well blended. Whisk in Cool Whip and chopped cookies. Spoon over crust.

Refrigerate 4 hours or until set.

*****I make this in a 9x9 pan and a loaf pan so they are taller rather than using the 13x9 pan.  I also put these in the freezer rather than the fridge until they are needed and then take them out and they are so good!

I could make that Northern! I even have a mixer!

nrcg  How you doing today? I talked with brother out there and said it's still raining.
It just won't stop raining, we are waiting for a break to take the dog out, and it is just pouring big time. I noticed some of my bark in my yard isn't where it is supposed to be, I guess I should stop looking out the window, and worry about all that later.
I hope the rain stops soon so Zoe can go out.

My favorite thing in the whole world is peanut butter fudge.  I could eat a pound of it.  I could eat so much that the elastic in my pants cuts off my circulation.  I could eat so much that a national peanut butter shortage would be announced.
PB fudge is my favorite too. My ex MIL would make it for me, needless to say I don't get it anymore.

Yum Kolaches!!! Did she ever make plum dumplings? I forget what they are called, but they are potatoe dumplings with a prune inside that are boiled, then rolled in sugar and cinnamon? If you eat one it will fill like you ate a cannon ball after a while.

I hate shopping. I went to Burlington Coat Factory and bought my ski jacket and two pairs of ski pants. Out of 12 checkout lines, they had 6 open with 20+ people in each line. If I didn't need to get those items I would have left. Then I went to PetsMart and played with the adopt a pet puppies before I came home. I would take them all home if I could

I hate shopping too, JSM. Just overwhelms me. Glad you got your ski jacket and pants! (Why do they have 20 checkouts when even during busy Christmas season with 20 people in each line, they only open 6 checkouts? I have always wondered that!)

I'd want to bring all the puppies home too, JSM. It's hard for me to play with them, I would not want to put one back!

Northern Rose, your recipes all sound so good. I read a couple to my husband, and he was drooling. LOL

Oh, your order is ready in my thread: http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=4314.msg1034467#msg1034467

Hello everyone! Been a busy today, but managed to stay up to date on all the threads I keep up with here!

Hope everyone is staying warm. And I hope it has stopped raining for Zoe!

Hi Brandi, it is crazy that they only had 6 lines open and that store was packed. I went to it because it wasn't in a mall. If the coat and pants weren't so cheap I probably would have left and gone to REI, but I would have paid probably 5 times more than what I paid at Burlington, so it was worth it

Northern is making me hungry for sweets and I am really not a sweet eater.

Hope you are having a great day. I am about to check over at Caylee's and see what's up over there.

Brandi , Thank you!  I left you a message in your thread.  In the weather we are having now Max would be in his glory.  He loved the bitter cold and I would fight with him to get him inside to make sure his paws were not frozen.  For the last two winters he was with us I would build a fire and he would lay in front of the fireplace and sleep when it was cold out.  I miss him so much right now but I know he is painfree and chasing some wildlife with glee.

This one is not in the best of neighborhoods, but it is HUGE and filled with stuff. So much stuff that if I was really shopping, I would have spent a fortune. It is the best one by far around my neck of the woods. I really wanted to look at all the clothes, but I knew I would be waiting in line forever.

Greeneyes if you are looking for a fast and simple recipe that kids can do, this was and is my youngest son's favourite.

cover a cookie sheet with tin foil.  Place a single layer of square salteen crackers (I use Kraft Premium Plus with salt) on the sheet to cover the whole sheet. You may have to creak some of the crackers in half to cover the sheet.  In a saucepan melt  1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar until it boils.  boil for 3 mins.  Pour over crackers.  Bake this for 7 min in a 400 degree oven.  Once out of oven immediately sprinkle a bag of semi Sweet chocolate chips on top of crackers.  Let stand so chocolate melts (about 4-5mins) and spread chocolate with a knife over the crackers.  Now sprinkle either chopped nuts, cookie sprinkles, anything like that on top.  Let cool and break into pieces.

You can mix this recipe up by using butterscotch chips and toppings, or white chocolate chips.

Thanks Northern Rose. We will do these tomorrow as I have everything. They sound good.

That sounds great, so you make popyseed kolaches  I just love them.

Northern Rose...what a beautiful avvie! I won't recognize you anymore...will take some getting used to...but lovely to  look at...

Everytime I see my avi I am in tears.  He was such a special dog.  I am going back to my anti-anthony lab tech and monkey after Christmas so you will recognize me and so will I!

I hope those are good tears of remembrance of good times with him.

I love the way he blinks. I have gotten better with that technique recently. I also buried his front feet in snow, since they were cut off in the picture.

I am glad it makes you happy. (At least I hope it does!)

And thank you, JSM, for your compliment. I saw.  an angelic monkey

Hey guys, Just stopping in a minute. I had to sit down for a few. lol This old age crap is for the birds and I don't have feathers yet. Got my cake done and frosted and in the fridge got my chicken off the bone and broccoli done and sauce mixed ,and my house is spotless. I am so tired

Northern your recipes sound so yummy. I love peanut buter on anything.
Do you have room for one more?  Sounds good, just got back from Walmart, wet and tired.
