Greeneyes if you are looking for a fast and simple recipe that kids can do, this was and is my youngest son's favourite.

cover a cookie sheet with tin foil.  Place a single layer of square salteen crackers (I use Kraft Premium Plus with salt) on the sheet to cover the whole sheet. You may have to creak some of the crackers in half to cover the sheet.  In a saucepan melt  1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar until it boils.  boil for 3 mins.  Pour over crackers.  Bake this for 7 min in a 400 degree oven.  Once out of oven immediately sprinkle a bag of semi Sweet chocolate chips on top of crackers.  Let stand so chocolate melts (about 4-5mins) and spread chocolate with a knife over the crackers.  Now sprinkle either chopped nuts, cookie sprinkles, anything like that on top.  Let cool and break into pieces.

You can mix this recipe up by using butterscotch chips and toppings, or white chocolate chips.

Thanks Northern Rose. We will do these tomorrow as I have everything. They sound good.

Just made these in a big cookie sheet and we doubled the butter and brown sugar mixture.  Just a FYI if you use a big cookie sheet.
Northern have you ever made Ruffles potato chips dunked in chocolate chips (melted)? They are so good, the salty of the chips with the sweet of the chocolate taste so good. I thought of those when I read about the saltine recipe.

I remember a little while ago someone had mentioned chocolate covered potato chips, and the first thing I thought was that they sounded so good. Salt and chocolate, perfect!

I had a site bookmarked in Fla that is very popular down there for their choco chips, and now I can't find it. I really, really wanna try them!

Muffy.  Has your weather gotten better? Ours is not as cold today and it is supposed to get into the high 60's or 70's next week. Or at least that is what the weather people are saying. (it will probably snow because they never get it right)

Northern, What a beautiful dog!

I wish I could have pets. We live in a rental, and aren't allowed anything not in a cage or tank. And neither of my children were fortunate to have a childhood pet growing up. And I'm really sorry for that! They've missed out on that bond you get growing up with a dog or a cat.

I wasn't allowed pets as a child, and only had one as an adult. If I could do it over again, I would in a second!

Gizzie that is so sad you can't have a dog or a cat. When I first read the post about the tank, my first thought was a snake, I forget about fish. Snakes are forbidden in my apartments, thank God. I know a family that evicted because they had a huge boa constrictor and would take it to the pool to show it off even though no pets are allowed. It was right after the manager saw the snake at the pool, and I think it scared away some prospective renters that they were evicted. I was bummed because they were really nice once they finally figured out they needed to put their pit bull on a leash or Josef would eat it.  Monkey Devil!

For any curling fans, the Roar of the Rings mens final is tomorrow with Kevin Martin rink going against Glenn Howard rink tomorrow.  It is going to be a great final.

We have normal deer like white tail deer and Elk.  I would think a buck would have to do with the number of points on their rack and a stag would be a younger male.  Not really sure but that is my guess.  I can ask my son the hunter tomorrow when he comes for dinner. I just cook them

Here are deer from the bush I walk Ryley in.
