Well, that stinks.  I'm sorry.   I've been lucky with them so far.   I did get a wrong item last week, but they exchanged it without any problems.   One time, I ordered two of one item, but they only sent me one.   I complained but I never got the second item I paid for.   That was a few years back, though.    Its strange that they would send you a knife but not a mug.

When I got to the checkout page I got these huge red letters stating there were items in my cart that they could not send out of the country (US) due to regulations.  I first thought it was the knife in my order but it was the mug and a plastic saucer sled.  Guess they are too dangerous to send up here.  Us Canadians can get inventive with a ceramic mug and plastic sled.

      That's funny.

So sorry to hear Digger got sick eating something he was not supposed to eat! Hope he is better by morning.

I'll have a special post for you in my thread with your daily snowman, and maybe something for Digger again Wink

I have ordered a bunch of things online this year...everything has been delivered already...I have had really good luck..
the only thing that I am waiting for is my zhu zhu Pipsqueak hamster that I bought from Ebay..it is supposed to be here on the 17th...

That's good.   I buy a lot of stuff from ebay, too.   I had to put myself on restriction from that site.   I was addicted to buying depression/carnival glass at one time.

Hey guys..... I just want to put a disclaimer here for the recipes that I posted in the recipe thread. I am from the deep south, and we don't know what a calorie is, so I am not responsible for any weight gained from my recipes.
I got all excited that the treats turned out good, and went to put the bowl with the butter and brown sugar for the second batch, and the microwave died on us. We both just stood there like now what no microwave. He is unscrewing something now, but I don't know what that is going to do

Have him check the door latch. Ours died on us (we thought) about a year and a half ago, and we found out that the door latch was not working right, so it did not turn on. Kinda slamming the door makes it work. And it's been working perfectly since.

Excuse the interruption....but I responded to Tevye's post on Musing and wanted to ensure she saw it.

Quote from: Tevye on Today at 01:34:32 PM

Klaas, if you could take Fanny and CC out of your above statement, I am one of those "other people". And you're right, I don't come here to make it all better. I come here to laugh about it and stay sane. JSM's thread is a good place to be when I'm not in such a good place. [my post in no way should be interpreted as any kind of comment on the Fanny and CC situation. Not looking to get into trouble, zoo geeper,    just thought ya'll might want to know why some of us "other people" are on JSM's thread]

Tevye...contrary to what is thought, I do go to the banning thread to see how you and others are doing....not to spy and report. I seldom post there as it was made quite clear that I was not welcome. And that's fine. But I am concerned about you and other's who are going through difficult times. I will  continue to lurk in the banning thread and keep track of your progress. I am a cancer survivor and I know what you are going through...your positive attitude and your faith will keep you strong.

This for for Sunny and any other poster that feels like it applies to them:

Each and every poster on this forum is free to post in any of the threads.  The basic rules apply, as far as staying on topic and posting appropriately.  But no one poster or group of posters "own" any threads on here to my knowledge.

I am very confused about this post because I never read snipped clips very well. I just wanted to get caught up and see what else was posted later.

So here goes Sunny please don't lurk.  I never knew when Bearly and the Mods gave me this thread that anyone would ever even look, much less post here. So what I am stupidly trying to say please keep posting here and don't lurk. I hope this makes sense because I am very tired and really need to make a Christmas list because sweet Sassy keeps reminding me how many more days it is until Christmas.

I just thought you were trying to remember where you had seen it before.

Maybe I am just not getting it. But there ya go Wink

No, I know exactly where I saw it, and as Muffy said she does too.  (although I do now remember you using it too but that was totally different)

If you look at the which posters posts I put it on, it may nor may not link things up for you. I apologize coz I know it sounds like I'm talking in circles.   And that, I'm sure, is plain as mud.

How bout them holiday goody recipes?

No trouble ever with Kmart and Walmart.  Neither will ship to Canada.  For Walmart you get bounced over to the International site asked for your postal code and they give you driving directions to the store nearest you.

Y'all are making me hungry.

My Grandmother that didn't cook made us a special cake for Christmas. It was called popcorn cake. It is made like popcorn balls but had peanuts and m&m mixed in and she put it in a buttered bundt cake pan. Then popped it out when it was firm.

The sweet from the m&m's and salty from the peanuts and popcorn made it so tasty and delicious. I would eat the whole thing over Christmas weekend.

I wish she was still around to make me one.
That sounds really good
It really is good, maybe I can email my stepmom tomorrow and see if she will send me the recipe and I will post it. I'm sure she will make one on Sunday for our family Christmas and I will take a picture of it. It is so good and yummy and now I am thinking about my Grandmother. It makes me sad.
I'm sorry  an angelic monkey Believe me I know how you feel, my grandma lived on the next block and she was a second mother to me.
Thanks No Rose, I miss her and my other one more as well. I think not being able to go to her funeral and her passing at Christmas bums me out. OH well. I will be fine and get the recipe and make a popcorn cake myself. (or take home leftovers)

I came back to see if anyone has any idea how old Joy Wray is.I don't even know why I thought about it.

That youtube of her pics from high school say copyright 1997.  If that was graduation yr, she's about 30 yrs old ?

1997????? She's a dang liar or has been rode hard and put up wet. She looks my age and I look ancient!

well I saw you from behind in that curling picture & that part didn't look ancient.

I'll go screen cap a copy of that pic with the 97 date on it.  BRB
Thanks Buds

I have met a lot of Canadian friends on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and I have also been the middle man for their US purchases, since as you have said, it can be difficult to buy from US companies and have them ship to Canada.

Probably because of that little pesky thing you all have called customs. LOL

And to find after driving to Walmart they have changed everything in the store around...thats why I despise going to Walmart its like playing musical chairs.

Sassy PLEASE don't tell me how many more days it is until Christmas    I haven't bought one present yet. I think I will take off a day this week to get my shopping done or everyone is getting an IOU.

You should try Amazon.    I think you can still get your stuff in time for Christmas if you hurry.   I love Amazon!
Take a day off, too.
an angelic monkey Thanks Sassy. I think what I am going to do is buy the ones going skiing a private group lesson, that way it is cheaper than a real present. Then all I have to get is a few other little presents on Amazon.

Amazon is a bad word in my world.  They would send me a knife but refused to send me a ceramic mug.  It also took 2 1/2 weeks to get my order from them.  They don't like us up in Canada.
That makes no sense Northern why a knife and no ceramics?

I know customs does have some impact on who will ship, but I have noticed that once our dollar got stronger and then passed the US (even though it went back down)  in value a lot more companies stopped shipping to Canada.  I think they felt it just was not worth it anymore.
