I Slept like the dead til the ripe morning hour of 11:30 til my dear sweet loving mother woke me up with the phone. Daughter duty calls this afternoon. Got to wrap her gifts for her. Hope you guys have a great afternoon. Brandi hope you get your snow. Right now all we are getting in S.C. is rain. uggghhhh. A cold 34 degree rain.
All my grandkids took there homemade cookies to school this morning for parties. Wow I know some kids who will be on a sugar high the whole weekend lol.

Looks like there's nothing to do but wait for the snow. Supposed to start around 4 PM. Looked up last time we had a white Christmas, and looks like it was 1966! (I think that might be wrong though.)

Isn't that like going on TV and confessing to a crime, but hoping the police don't hear about it?

Hello everyone! Expecting 14+ inches of snow here in Central VA over the next 36 hours or so. That's a LOT for us. Oh, and more snow predicted for Carrie's birthday on Christmas Eve! We haven't had a white Christmas here for ages!

It is sort of similar except this is the only place i have mentioned it and i know neither them or friends read here... we have not said anything and have asked all who do know not to post anything on FB or MS due to the reason his mom has FB.... so its only announced to monkeys, and guests... 

It is getting close...  Sunday is dinner at Munkeymunk's since i am gonna be gone on my bday and xmas...

Northern, What a beautiful dog!

I wish I could have pets. We live in a rental, and aren't allowed anything not in a cage or tank. And neither of my children were fortunate to have a childhood pet growing up. And I'm really sorry for that! They've missed out on that bond you get growing up with a dog or a cat.

I wasn't allowed pets as a child, and only had one as an adult. If I could do it over again, I would in a second!

I am surprised that you are not allowed a fish tank or birds. 

That's the only pet we can have. The bird in my avi is our pet. I guess I can understand their point, but I would make sure there was no damage done. But I think they've had some bad experiences in the past, and just don't want to chance it again. I even offered to pay extra per month, but no go.

What if you needed a service dog?  It would be illegal for them to throw you out based on that I would think.

Just an FYI... I have a service dog, a doxie.  He's not considered a "pet", and it's a mandated federal law that he be allowed anywhere I live and go.   Federal law over-rides any state law that says 'no dogs' allowed, etc.  Period.  All I have to do is flash the lil message from the Dept. of Justice, and he's in.  lol  He wears his lil service dog vest and has credentials and all.  But I don't "have" to prove his credentials, and it's illegal for anyone to make me show them.  The only prob I've ever had is when taking him inside Wally World.  They were like... "he's a what????"  lol  Landlords tho, they just gotta get over themselves, federal law says they have to allow them.  And some don't like it. Too bad.  My doxie alerts for my heart condition, has saved my life twice.  Other than that, he sees his job as eating, sleeping, tearing up his squeaky toys.

Wow Wyks, how amazing, I never heard of a doxie being a service dog before, he alerts for your heart condition and saved your life twice, that is amazing. Doxie's are so smart and make wonderful pets, and service dogs

Wow Wyks, how amazing, I never heard of a doxie being a service dog before, he alerts for your heart condition and saved your life twice, that is amazing. Doxie's are so smart and make wonderful pets, and service dogs 

Yep!  Doxies are very smart!  And stubborn lil cusses too.     He can get me a bottle of water out of the fridge <we have a towel on the door handle that he pulls to open fridge> and then he's *supposed* to nudge it closed.  He brings the water and runs back to stare at all the food.  LOL  Lil brat. 


He knows before I do when my heart is going to go wacky.  He alerts, and I give him the cue to settle.  <that means I get his warning and take an extra dose of meds>  If I don't give him the cue, he sets up a fuss  <if we're in the public> to alert others who hopefully realize something's wrong.  <i wear a medic alert bracelet>.  And if home he will pull an alarm cord, which calls 911.  He then waits at the door and opens it for the EMTs. <towel on handle for him to pull>  And he's gotten to where he wants to answer the phone too.  Sits and barks at it when it rings, grabs it first whenever possible.  Has somehow managed to hit the speed dial number and called my youngest son once.   I swear he thinks he's human!

Dept. of Parks & Rec will close centers and cancel all programming functions at 6pm due to pending inclement weather.

heh ... My first thought was: snow coming and they are closing the parks?

Just closing the centers and canceling the programs. Parks won't be closed. We need them open for sledders!

We have a system.  Ryley on leash runs down with them holding on for dear life pulling them even faster at times trying to jump on the sled to save them or pull them off by their arms, feet, hands ...any appendage he can get ahold of.  Once they have stopped and he has licked them sufficiently to ensure they are alive and giggling....I call Ryley (as I am standing at the top of the hill, child holds onto leash for dear life and he pulls them part or all the way up the hill.  Then child two gets turn to do same.

Repeat sequence alternating children.
