At the park on the mountain behind me, there was a wolf compound with 6 wolves. 4 days ago, we had a lot of strong winds and a tree fell on the fence and they escaped. Four have been lured back and 2 are still gone!

At the park on the mountain behind me, there was a wolf compound with 6 wolves. 4 days ago, we had a lot of strong winds and a tree fell on the fence and they escaped. Four have been lured back and 2 are still gone!

I hear that Klaas has made a Christmas mug!    Where do I go to buy one? I love my SM mugs!! They're big and when you reheat in the microwave, the handles stay cool!

I KNOW! I worry about letting my dog out in the yard! My neighborhood is literally at the base of that mountain and we get deer all the time from the park. They also keep a deer compound and rotate deer through there so the school children can see them. When they are turned loose, they head to our neighborhood where people feed them.  Those of us who have been here long enough to NOT feed them, feed them anyway with every darn flower we try to plant!

She used to make a Christmas tree with everybody's Christmas avi hanging from the tree, but there's too many posters now. I think this one is just a Scared Monkeys one with some Christmas decorations, but I really like the mugs! They're perfect for soup, too!

They really can be, especially during rutting season! There was a baby deer that a lot of neighbors were feeding (OK, I'm guilty too on that one). Nobody seemed to know where the Mother was, but it seemed to be thriving. All the kids just loved it, and it would hand feed. It stayed around for a couple of years and was VERY friendly! It would come to the houses and wait at the back door to be fed! Finally, it just disappeared one winter only to reappear in the Spring in an empty field where the kids were playing football. Somebody spotted it in the near distance, just watching them. Finally, it came running and knocked one of the boys down. Someone called the park and a naturalist came and set up a capture plan. The concensus was that it wanted to play the game the boys were playing!   

Last time I fed the neighborhood deer!
