Edward

They did discus Joran and Ruth Mc Veigh and the money in their FBI 302.  They saw him around for a couple days.  They only got in on Thursday.  Their FBI statements seem pretty honest to me.

I agree with Jenn with one exception....I think Anita was in on it from the get go.  Paulus talked to her in Holland and told her Joran was the last one with Natalee (supposedly when everyone believed the HI lie).

The MB kids were in Aruba only 83 hours including sleep time when Natalee disappeared.  No one "hung around with Joran all week" unless he was in MB!

They arrived Thursday evening and she disappeared in the late morning hours on Sunday.

Remember Beth was talking with them by phone when she was at the Sloot house!  They were telling her Joran was lying, etc.

We saw the hate threads and attacks on those kids, still minors themselves from sites like RU and they still do it on occasion.  Thread after thread delving into their personal lives and posting lies and hate and exaggeration.

No one would want that for their kids.  I think they have told all they know.  Had they known what was going to happen I am sure they would have taken closer note of things.  Hindsight is always 20/20.  And we have gone over each and every statement probably a dozen times.  Two dozen on some of them.

It's all in the archives.

Anita: But I had, well drugs... no, but alcohol...  Those doubts were there for a while, and I was in Holland by the way, for the birthday of my grandmother, she turned 90 years old.  I had gone to Holland for a few days, and Paul called me, like oh, something disturbing, there is a girl missing, and Joran seems to be the one who was last... seen with her, went out with her.  By the way, I was just at the point of leaving Holland, so I did not go back early.  So I had thought something like, jeez, oh what now, again? But we both felt like, well she will appear again, the girl has probably ran away.  And when he told me about the conversation he had with the girl, I then especially had thought something like, well she will turn up.  But after three days it became rather worrying.

Katherine (Madison) Whatley
FBI Statement
July 12, 2005

After swimming at the hotel on Sunday, WHATLEY and other classmates, including HOLLOWAY, ate dinner at a restaurant next to the hotel. After dinner they went to the casino at the hotel. A few classmates were gambling at a card table along with an "older man" and YURON VAN DER SLOOT. (Whatley 302)

MANSUR: There have not been any change of opinion. People, including people in the casino say that is Paul.

Beth said after she and Greta went into Paulus house (when he was hiding in the bushes) that she could tell that Natalee had been inside that home. I trust a mother's instinct.

As a mother myself, WE do know.

Same thing about what happened.  The very minute they arrested Joran and the Kalpoes I took one look at (get this) Deepak and I knew she was dead.  I knew Joran did it BUT it was looking at Deepak that I knew it was over for Natalee.  Don't know why but Deepak's face gave it away.  JMO

Deepak went straight home and logged onto the internet to create an alibi and "misdirect the investigation" or whatever he called it.  What investigation was he talking about.

And I know there are some who will say it was the next night he did that but it was the same time Natalee disappeared because he wouldn't need an alibi for the next night.  That's nuts!

So how did Deepak know there was going to be an investigation?  Either he was there or Joran told him what happened so either way he knew.

Thanks for trying to help me understand 2NJ

I move cruise line crew from every country around the world to every country around the world. I've heard of every type of Visa with every letter in the alphabet followed by numbers.

I have never heard of needing to apply for a Visa because you are taking an online course in another country.

I thought the pleading was trying to point out that he's managed to go thru the visa application process before -- why can't he apply correctly now?

I must be going thru one of these 'dumber than rocks' phases.

Never mind.....moving right along

Thanks.

Me too Sharon.

Janet

++++++

The pdf states on page 6 that Deepak failed to declare that he 'attended' the International Christian Academy in Miami, FL in 2004 ?????

Why would they care if he took the course online??

This is a Visa application discussion. Why would that even be discussed if he took the course online?

Just curious.

Hi, Klaas!  Love your Gidget avi and that you are getting all ready for trial coverage.  What if they won't let you do it from inside?  You will have to run outside and report back.  Back and forth!

Yes, it will be here before we know it and is about the only thing we have going for Natalee right now.

I hope at least something comes to light or as a result of all this.  Agree, things are not looking good for the Kalpoes as they have failed to provide discovery documents and properly apply for visas.  Judge can't see that as a good thing.

I read every word you post, I just don't have anything to add lots of time but I am here.

Don't take the pup!  I know from experience what it's like to come out and find one has chewed up the interior of a car, lol.  Doesn't take any time for them to do it either.

It's going to depend upon who is allowed inside.  Red has talked about getting a media pass of sorts.  I'm sure that if there's any way Beth or JQK can assist in getting us into the courtroom they will.  Either way I'll be there and will get pics and video of the dirtbags as they arrive and depart at the very least

Dissatisfied buyers housing project Jan Ridderstap
30 Jan, 2010, 07:18 (GMT -04:00)

SAN NICOLAS — The housing project Jan Ridderstap at San Nicolas is in deep water. Buyers and owners of terrains and houses in this project threaten to become the victim of developer Aruba Development Company (ADC), at least according to seven victims. The developer was not available for comment.

Spokesperson for the victims, Geert Londeman, states that the buyers are not the only financial victims. “For months now, also suppliers of services and goods have been waiting for their money to no avail.” One of the construction companies, Maranto Enterprises, has meanwhile taken a claim to the terrain of ADC, according to Londeman. In the meantime, ADC is blaming the government for delaying the housing project. Every time the project developer had told the victims, that the government was not cooperating with the issuance of the required permits. The victims now demand their money back and consider further steps. Londeman: “One owner had already paid many tens of thousands guilders on the first phase of the construction, but the foundation has not even been laid yet”. According to Londeman, there are other victims, who are expecting an addition to their family within a few weeks, whose house should have been completed last November. “Until now, the house or the walling is not finished. They are expecting to be served an eviction order, as their current tenancy agreement is about to expire.”

For the first time in 15 years, I had 2 cars broken into. They smashed the small side door window to get access. We were doing a shore dive near Spanish Lagoon when it happened. It took the police almost 2 hours to show up to file a report. The rental company, Payless, put new windows in and never even charged us. I learned a lesson the hard way and wanted to pass it along. Do not become complacant and watch where you park and what you leave in the car. After 15 years, I did become complacant and it cost me. We still managed to have a great time!!!!!!!!!

I also had become complacent until last May. We were north of Arashi Beach walking the beach and shallow reef area. I had left the car unlocked because it was always in our view. I did have the keys with me. My wife and I were walking the reef looking at shells and coral when my wife looked back at the car. A young person was entering the car as I looked up. I yelled and started running toward the car.

The person only had time to grab my wife's purse and camera case. He had his faded red older toyota corolla parked right behind ours. He jumped into his car and left.

I did file a police report, but to my knowledge nothing has come of it.

After the dive, we brought our tanks and BC's up to put in the trunk. We had planned to take the kids snorkling so we left the rest of our stuff at the beach, which by the way is quite nice. I did notice a car with dark tinted windows sitting in the parking lot but chose to ignore it even though something did not seem right. I figured the doors are locked so all is well. Boy was I wrong. Went back to the beach and not 20 minutes later my brother went up to find both cars broken into. They got around 200 in cash, pair of Oakley sunglasses, my BC(which ended the diving for the trip) cell phone and some smaller items. I should add that the locals that called the police for us were very upset that this happened. They kept coming out to see if the police had come and kept calling for us. It must happen enough that the rental company keeps these windows in stock. They need to do away with the "V" on the plates.

The Netherlands assist with new contingency plan

State-Secretary Ank Bijleveld and advisor Hans Gerritsen in conversation with Premier Mike Eman and cabinet secretary Nicole Hoevertsz.

ORANJESTAD — The Dutch Council of the Safety (RvdV) will assist with drawing up a new contingency plan for Aruba. State-Secretary Ank Bijleveld (CDA) of Kingdom Relations promised this, says Premier Mike Eman (AVP) during his working visit in the Netherlands this week.

The natural disaster in Haiti was reason for Eman to make haste with the contingency plan. The advisory organ RvdV deals with safety policy, such as disaster control and combating terrorism.

The redistribution of the money currently available in the development fund Fondo Desaroyo Aruba (FDA) had also been discussed during the consultation. The fund supposedly still disposes of approx. 200 million florins. It is not known yet how much money is exactly available for redistribution. A newly established study group with representatives of Economical Affairs, Finances, DFA and the Dutch Representative on Aruba (VNO) should be able to provide clarity on this within two weeks. The government wants to use 100 million florins from this fund for the urban modernization project of both Oranjestad and San Nicolas.

Valero
Bijleveld is very positive on the temporary agreement between the government and oil company Valero. She promised that the Netherlands would continue to remain pro-active in the search for new possibilities and interested companies for the oil refinery. In this, it mainly regards knowledge and experience, which the Netherlands will make available for negotiations. However, the Netherlands also offers support through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For example, they had made contact with Petrobras again and had strengthened the contacts with the Mexican oil company PeMex.

Monorail
Premier Eman has more meetings and consultations in the Netherlands. He had a conversation today with Upper Chamber-member Hand Hillen on the main road between Oranjestad and San Nicolas. During this meeting, they discussed the various possibilities of a four-lane motorway and a freeway on piles. On Friday, Eman will be signing a letter of intent with soccer club Sparta for T-shirt sponsoring. A cooperation agreement with the municipality The Hague will also be signed tomorrow.

I've read about some that only found out about some charges to their credit cards for vandalism to their rental car after they home and got their statement in the mail!

Tourists are definitely targets.

"I can look back over the past 10 years and there were no steps wasted, and there are no regrets,'' she said. "I did all I knew to do and I think that gives me greater peace now." "I've lived every parent's worst nightmare and I'm the parent that nobody wants to be," she said.

Dear customers,
For many years we have served your cell phone rental needs from the DIGICEL booth at the airport location. This brought us directly in touch with so many of you and it put familiar faces on the reservations we received. Effective February 2nd - 2010, FAST PHONES will no longer work from the airport location, however we are remaining active in this business and will be delivering to you directly to your hotel or resort. The on-line reservations forms will be modified shortly to reflect this change. We will be in touch with all our reservations for February 2nd - 2010 and beyond and explain exactly how we will proceed with the delivery to your resort or hotel.

It was a pleasure to have worked from the airport location and we understand that DIGICEL will establish a full service location there. We wish them all of the very best and know that they will be successful.

Be well

Janet - on your own Myspace account you could put Margaritaville or anything.  Deepak was in Aruba in 2007 or at least most of 2007.   You don't have to be honest about your location or birthdate or anything.  Most people don't think about it and put their usual information/location/birthdate.

Thank you Klaas.

Good Night All.

Janet

The pdf states on page 6 that Deepak failed to declare that he 'attended' the International Christian Academy in Miami, FL in 2004 ?????

Why would they care if he took the course online??

This is a Visa application discussion. Why would that even be discussed if he took the course online?

Just curious.

Regarding Sharon's question quoted above, my interpretation was that both Deepak and Satish had filed for a Visa but each time had inconsistencies or omissions.  In other words, Deepak filed and omitted the Miami school, then later may have included it and a red flag came up.

From personal experience in filing government forms for my Dad or our personal use, all info has to be filled in and documentation attached.  If not, denial will be forthcoming.  (my experience does not include Visas, but I would think Homeland Security would be strict on this).

It seemed obvious to me that all schools attended were to be listed.  I have lost touch with a co-worker who was sponsored by our employer to get her working Visa when she married and came to the states from India.  When she sought her green card later, she and her husband had to travel to Canada (don't recall why), rather than NYC (as before) and it took a couple of days there before all of the necessary paperwork and further requirements were attained.  I remember there were many papers to be submitted and the night she stood by the copy machine trying to make the deadline.

Oh, and Good Morning, everyone.  I got sleepy earlier than usual last night and missed the late night discussion once again.

Thanks.

Sharon, dear, I spent a bit of time today looking for the requirements for various types of visas today.  I did find one site where it listed schooling for a spouse had to be listed in detail, but came to a dead end with individuals for temporary visas.

You are not dumber than rocks, for cryin' out loud.  I just wanted to see the paperwork they may have filled out and my puter was not cooperating.  I just know what I have filled out and it is very painful.  (Not sayin' that it shouldn't be for K2 to come to trial...just that it should be the same for them.)  As some have said, maybe it's all on purpose.  I just don't know.

I was digging with my no nothing at all shovel....sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

ARUBA: It's all about Natalee...we won't give up!

public figure n. in the law of defamation (libel and slander), a personage of great public interest or familiarity like a government official, politician, celebrity, business leader, movie star, or sports hero. Incorrect harmful statements published about a public figure cannot be the basis of a lawsuit for defamation unless there is proof that the writer or publisher intentionally defamed the person with malice (hate). (See: defamation, libel, slander)

http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Public+Figure

With the level of WORLDWIDE interest and news coverage of Natalee's story, I can't see any way that Deepak or Satish wouldn't be considered Public Figures by a legal definition.

When the judge dismissed the case against Skeeters estate, he stated that the Kalpoes were Newsworthy or of public interest because of their involvement in the Natalee Holloway case.
I would think if they were persons of public interest in the Skeeters case the same would be true in the Dr. Phil case.   All of that was filed in the California court around the first week of September 2009.

Thanks for the reminder, and I agree Magnolia!

Forgot to add that one to my comments on today's posts...I probably forgot more too.  I was trying to post when I figured out that my internet was down so I had to start over later.
