"Soros: Finance gap could 'wreck' climate talks"

Quote
About $100 billion in a one-time infusion could be generated, said Soros, a major supporter of causes in the developing world.

But he acknowledged a major roadblock in Washington.

"It is possible to substantially increase the amount available to fight global warming in the developing world," he said. "All that is lacking is the political will. Unfortunately the political will will be difficult to gather because of the mere fact that it requires congressional approval in the United States."

Soros said he had "informal discussions" with Obama administration officials and they recognized the difficulty of getting congressional approval. But he said the issue was too important to sweep aside.

Does Soros know how much debt the US has?  Is he aware that our prospects are being deminished by Obamacrats?
Developing nations are pressing the U.S., Europeans, Japanese and others at Copenhagen for more upfront money and for assurances about long-term financing so they can plan on a stable source for many billions more.
Why aren't they asking wealthy China for money?  Should the US, Europe, and Japanese BORROW at loan shark rates to help questionable developing nations?

Why aren't they going to the rich wealthy countries and global individuals directly for the money?

Quote
U.S. chief negotiator Todd Stern urged China — now the world's biggest polluter — to "stand behind" its promise to slow the growth of the country's carbon output and make the declaration part of the Copenhagen agreement.

China rejected that demand, and renewed its criticism of the U.S. for failing to meet its 17-year-old commitment to provide financial aid to developing countries and to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other gases warming the Earth.

"What they should do is some deep soul-searching," said Yu Qingtai, China's chief climate negotiator.

The US is broke.  Obamacrats are determined to DESTROY what is left of the US economy.  No jobs or prosperity for Americans.

All the jobs and prosperity are for illegal aliens and foreigners.  It's the Obama way.  Congress, is a problem for Soros.

The US Constitution is the AMERICAN way.

He proposed that the rich countries hand their $150bn (£92bn) of SDRs to poor countries for immediate use to combat climate change.

...

This would mean developing countries were not saddled by debt payments, he explained.

Why should America's children and grandchildren be saddled with debt?  The Obama theft of America's future?

"All that is lacking is the political will to fight global warming by using SDRs," he said.

The US government was supportive in principle, he claimed, but was reluctant to pursue the proposal because it would require approval in the Senate.

Isn't the Senate part of the US Government?  Maybe Soros doesn't understand the American way?

The Constitution?

But even without US support, other rich countries could go ahead and provide $100bn of funding.

The current proposed funding under debate in Copenhagen is $10bn (£6bn) a year for three years.

There is no long-term funding on the table so far, because rich countries do not see a way of contributing more from their current balance sheets.

"The beauty of this is that it is off-balance sheet," Mr Soros said. "This is a win-win for developed and developing countries."

This sounds like GLOBAL ENRON accounting.  Wow, what a great thing OBAMA is doing.

Many 'rich' countries are in great debt.  There are MANY WEALTHY global elite that are RICH.

The US is BROKE.

But Friends of the Earth was much more cautious, partly because it feared that the Soros scheme might take pressure off rich nations and partly because it involved carbon markets, which it described as a "scam".

A SCAM of global proportions - thank you wealthy global citizens - the rich get richer and the poor get poorer and it's not from hard work.
