Body Found-

West of Wendover near/in Pilor Valley
Found right next to the road (I-80)

The only description they have right now is that the body is 5'5" - 5'6" tall

Well - it's definitely the direction he claimed to have gone "camping" - albeit several miles further west.

If the body was found right next to the road, then there wasn't much effort to conceal it, whether this is Susan Powell or not. She's been gone a month and a day now.  I wonder if the intention was to return and hide the body in a more concealed space. 

No info yet on if the body was buried, or partially buried.  But you're right Muffy - definite lack of effort in concealement.

Perhaps that is what Josh was doing in that rental car?  Trying to get back to the disposal site to move it/conceal it better?

But mabey had no luck due to traffic/witnesses?

Wendover is *I think* just over 100 miles from the Salt Lake valley - so it surely could account for at least 200 of the "several hundred" miles he put on that rental.

Considering the reported condition of his hands - Josh was not wearing gloves for this.

that's just barely outside of (West) the town of Wendover, NV.

Wendover splits the state line between UT/NV

I don't know anything about Utah/Nevada, could someone tell me where this body was found, was it cold and snowy? I have only been to SLC in Utah and Reno and Las Vegas in Nevada. I pray that it was cold and whomever they found they will be able to find a cause of death due to it being so cold. TIA JSM

PILOT VALLEY, Nevada - Police tell FOX 13 that a suspected body was found by detectives from the Elko County Sheriff's Office in Pilot Valley, Nevada, just west of West Wendover. The suspected body was found wrapped in plastic and has not yet been opened by police.

WEST VALLEY CITY — Detectives from the Elko County, Nev. Sheriff's Office are investigating the discovery of a body found wrapped in plastic in a remote area about two hours outside of Elko, near West Wendover, Utah.

The body was discovered about noon Thursday in the Pilot Valley area, said Elko Undersheriff Doug Gailey. The body is a person between 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches, he said. Gailey had no information Thursday afternoon as to the possible age or sex of the victim or how long the body had been there.

The body was found in an area with poor cell phone reception and Gailey, as of 4:30 p.m., was waiting for updates from his investigators, he said.

West Valley police say they were aware of the discovery and monitoring the situation.

"We know about it, but all we know is what's on the news," said West Valley Assistant Police Chief Craig Black. "We're waiting to hear if we need to get further involved."

Susan Powell, a West Valley mother of two, has been missing for over a month. Her husband, Josh Powell, has been labeled a person of interest in Powell's disappearance. He told police he went camping in rural Tooele County early on the morning of Susan's disappearance. He later rented a car after police confiscated his for a day to process it for possible evidence, and reportedly put several hundred miles on it.

Did I read the report right that the body was found by detectives? That says they knew what and who they were looking for. IMO  Prayers to family whom ever this is.  It's just sad.

I don't know anything about Utah/Nevada, could someone tell me where this body was found, was it cold and snowy? I have only been to SLC in Utah and Reno and Las Vegas in Nevada. If there was ANY snow there at all, I would be surprised.  The area i was focused on is approx 30 miles back to the East toward Salt Lake, and had gotten a total of .16" of precipitation for the entire month of December.

So out where this body is, there should be no snow, and the ground should not be frozen (or at least, not frozen very hard).
