Interesting article. It does sound plausible - except the ladder issue. What day was it that CA and GA noticed the ladder to the pool in the wrong place?

2008-06-17    TUES    Cindy Anthony told Mark Fuhrman that she (Cindy) and Casey swam in the pool on 06/15/08 and when they were done they put the pool ladder away but on 06/17/08 the Anthony's noticed the ladder was back up on the pool hooked up and the side gate of the yard was open.    Mark Fuhrman said Cindy Anthony told him about pool ladder being moved 06/17/08
(Greta OTR "Behind the CSI Return to Caylee's Grandparents House" 08/06/2008):
VAN SUSTEREN: All right. Now, the business about the -- there's a pool in the back yard, and there's something about the ladder connected to the pool. And in fact, if you can just stand over on -- I've actually got a picture, so you can explain the significance of new information on the ladder and the pool in the back yard. What is the story on this ladder?(MARK FUHRMAN, FMR LAPD HOMICIDE DETECTIVE): Well, it's interesting. You know, the grandparents are telling me that on the 16th, when Casey and Caylee are leaving that morning at 12:50 -- the previous night, Cynthia, the grandmother, and Casey swam in the pool. After they were done, they take me ladder, which snaps off, and then they take the ladder away from the pool so Caylee can't climb up it by herself. Now, nobody swam in the pool after that night on Sunday. Nobody swam there on Monday. And then Tuesday morning, they noticed that the ladder was back up on the pool, hooked up, and the gate on the side of the house was open. So it's interesting information considering the activity that preceded -- you know, preceded that on the day before.

Casey Anthony: The media are waiting, too

The Casey Anthony case had a lot of readers sounding off this week.

Here’s a comment from one: “Many people hear a date about evidence being submitted concerning Casey didn’t murder Caylee but yet when the date arrives and passes, there is nothing.  I am sorry but all of us who heard the date February 1st, 2010 cannot all be nuts. It is pathetic that a very important date like this has been totally ignored. A trial date needs to be set now, and Baez and freak show must be ready, and if not ready too bad.”

Yet the wheels of justice can move slowly, especially on murder trials with the death penalty.

Readers focused on the Feb. 1 date, but the prosecution and the defense are working out a schedule for discovery. When we know more information, we’ll share it. We have to wait for events to play out.

Another reader complained: “Most of us have read the Discovery allowed to be made Public by the Sunshine Law and the Media hasn’t covered even 10% of the thousands of pages and what it all means.”

Reporters read the discovery and report the most interesting facts. No journalist — TV or print — has the resources to provide all of discovery.

The Casey Anthony case is not the only murder case happening in Orange County. Yet it has received more coverage than 99.9 percent of the cases.

We have a responsibility to cover other news, too. In 2008, Orange County had 123 murders. Caylee was one of them. Last year, we had more than 72 and so far this year seven people have been brutally killed.

We realize many people have an intense fascination in the Anthony case, and we try to share the latest to meet that demand.

But we in the media are like the public: We have to wait for events to unfold.

Hey Monks -- sneaking in -- but to prove damages, I would guess the designation of experts relates to damages alleged by the plaintiff

Maybe we should all write strickland about our disgust at the way the defense is intentionaly refusing to turn over  information by the deadline set by the courts.
but my reason for suggesting we write to strickland is this. I think that baez does not know what he is doing his lack of experience is only working against the prosecution to bring this case to trial in a timely manor. Where else have we seen that a trial is allowed to drag on for that many years as they are requesting. It is not fair to caylee the victim for this cherade to continue. If baez doesnt know what he is doing and perhaps he is confused and stumped as how to proceed. than he needs to take his incompetent rump roast! off this case. It has become ovious that he doesnt know what he is doing! theres no excuse for this kind of incompetence.

let's stop this madness!

Casey Anthony trial date set

Updated: Wednesday, 03 Feb 2010, 6:46 PM EST
Published : Wednesday, 03 Feb 2010, 6:37 PM EST

A major development in the case against Casey Anthony Wednesday as Judge Stan Strickland set a trial date for the first degree murder charges.

It is now set for May 2nd, 2011. That’s about a year after the trial was first supposed to start. There’s no word yet where it will take place.

Prosecutors also filed a new motion asking the judge for a private closed-door meeting without the defense attorneys. Prosecutors say they have new material and information from investigators regarding the case that they don’t want to go be disclosed to the public.
Anthony has pleaded not guilty on charges that she killed her daughter, 2-year-old Caylee Marie, claiming a babysitter kidnapped her toddler. Caylee was last seen in June of 2008, but she was not reported missing until a month later. Her remains were found in woods near the family's home in December 11, 2008.

Casey Anthony: Prosecution warns murder trial might not begin before May 2011

The prosecution in the Casey Anthony murder case has asked the judge’s permission to hold back information from the defense, WFTV-Channel 9 reported tonight.

What information? It might be federal investigators’ evidence, which the defense has repeatedly sought,  WFTV anchor Martie Salt speculated.

“Prosecutors also argued that if the defense questions every material witness under oath, Casey’s trial won’t start before May 2011,” Salt added.

Casey is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

Casey Case Prosecutors Want To Withhold Info

In the case against Casey Anthony Wednesday, prosecutors revealed they want to meet with Judge Stan Strickland privately to get his permission to hold back information from the defense.

Repeatedly, the defense has asked for more information from federal investigators before moving their case forward, but it's unclear whether that's the evidence at issue.

Prosecutors also argued that, if the defense questions every material witness under oath, Casey's trial won't start before May of 2011.

I hope we see some action soon!!
I dont think the defense knows what steps to take next. I also dont think casey is too worried she's a sociopath and fears nothing and actualy doesnt think she's gonna be convicted. You know the Monday she appeared in court on the fraud charges was it her voice that made a comment under her breath calling baez an idiot? because of the dumb comment he made.?

New Motions Filed In Anthony Trial
Prosecution Asks For More Time To Go Over New Evidence

ORLANDO, Fla. --
Lawyers in the trial of Casey Anthony have filed two new motions.

In what defense lawyers are calling a rare request, prosecutors have asked to meet behind closed doors with Judge Stan Strickland.

In the motion, the assistant state attorney said the team wants more time to go over new materials and information that has come into the hands of law enforcement. Prosecutors said they want to meet with the judge and ask to delay turning that information over to the defense.

Attorney Richard Hornsby said the state needs to determine how the materials affect the murder case against Anthony. If the information is coming from a new witness, he said the state needs more time to prevent the defense from discrediting or scaring away that person from testifying.

Lawyers have also filed a timeline for the case, which may push the trial back to May 2011. Under the timeline, prosecutors must depose their witnesses by the end of August, while the defense has until Halloween to list who it will call as witnesses.

The defense will have until January to depose their witnesses. Lawyers must also show why the case is being delayed if the deadlines can't be met.

As of Wednesday, Anthony has been in jail for 421 days.
